For my final Team Pepper post I really wanted to find something profound to write. Something to uplift and inspire. Something that people far and wide will remember for years to come. Something from my own mind, rather than words regurgitated from the world wide web. Something barfed up from my own mouth… in a delicate way. A burp almost. But tangible. Something that my readers can latch onto and hold close to their hearts.
Here it goes.
Are you ready?

Get off the damned computer and go outside already! The internet isn’t real life! Real life exists when you get off your ass and live it!!!
How did I do?

Wow, Linda: you had the guts to say what so many of us know to be true (although I would argue that the friendships here are real, lack of face-to-face contact notwithstanding). Profound words, indeed — and succinct, hinting that brevity is the soul of wit.

Thanks, Sandi. 🙂 It’s true the friendships here are real… but if I spent as much time every day talking to my friends as I spend online, they’d get sick of me. 😛 haha.

That is actually a sobering thought, Linda: how much time do I spend daily interacting with non-family members offline? The pathetic answer takes me back to the truth of your post.

So true, Linda. I had a week away from my blog last week and lived life. I had a fantastic time and really enjoyed myself. So much so, that I am now only going to give my blog 4 hours a day (2 hours of reading and commenting and 2 of writing), then I can enjoy life away from the blog. Don’t get me wrong, I love blogging but it should not become a monster and take over life.

It really does if you let it, doesn’t it? Good for you for making the decision to limit your time here! 🙂

I did that today as a matter of fact. As we say in Tennessee, “Honey, you’re a mess.” That’s a compliment.

It’s cold out there! Also, you should totally have a picture at the top with someone itching their head. Can claim the white stuff is dandruff.

Haha! Good one! And I agree. “Unplugging” once in a while and going outside, spending time in the “real world” is something everyone should do. For example, my boyfriend and I went on a nature walk yesterday in one of our local state parks, something we’d been wanting to do for a while but hadn’t had a chance to before. (One of the things he likes about me is that I like to spend time out in nature, like he does :)) We had a great time, even if there was a chill in the air, and plan to go back for more walks.

I actually wanted to go out and work in the yard this weekend, because I finished my NaNo and I’ve got a pile of leftovers so I don’t have to cook, AND it’s a balmy 64 degrees here. Sadly the universe saw fit to give me a serious UTI, so the doctor said I’ve got to chill for a few days. Blarg!
