One-Liner Wednesday – Views and Follows

On average, how many posts and/or pages do you look at before deciding to follow a blog?

I hope someone answers zero, because often I get follows without views – then again, if anyone has followed me this way, chances are they won’t see this post. 😛

Anyway, please leave a number in the comments. And while you’re at it, write a one-liner and leave a link to it! Instructions below the line.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Anyone who would like to try it out, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday, if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Make it either funny or inspirational.

Have fun!

  6. At least two, sometimes a third, and always the about page.

If you don’t have me by then, you don’t get me.

    ^^^And there’s my one-liner :-P.

  7. I read one, and then if I like it, I read more. I only follow when I like it a lot.

  10. About your new followers then WordPress has many new possibilities from mobil and tablets. If they see your post at another blog, they can follow you from there.
I use to visit a blog several times and read at least 2 posts and the About to see if their blog is anything for me at all.

  12. I usually read two or three before I decide to follow. If the posts interest me and the blog itself is well formatted, then I’ll give it a follow. If I see a lot of grammar/spelling mistakes that distract me from the writing itself, then I stop reading.

  13. Typically, I will read their ‘about’ page along with two posts. Depending on what I see there will determine whether I follow them or not.

  15. I read a few pages of a blog to see if I am interested enough to come back and then I follow. I would see what they are about like photography, poetry, everyday life, fiction. I read the about page as well.

  19. I, um, I don’t know. I hadn’t really thought about it. I do look at several before I follow most of the time, but if a particular post hits me hard then I follow after just the one.

  21. I usually read one or two posts, and I always read the About page. Although there was one time, I followed a blog simply because I liked the blog’s very unique title. I seldom follow a blog simply because that blogger has followed me – not all of my followers have blogs that I care to read on a constant basis.

  23. One or two. I tend to get more information about if I want to follow from reading comments on mutual blogs or my own, so that could lead to the new follower/no view sometimes. Though, I am not sure I trust WP entirely on their stats either 🙂

  24. The first thing I’ll do is go to the blogger’s About page. If it says, “This is an example of a WordPress page,” I will stop right there and not bother to read any posts. If the About page sounds interesting, I will read the most recent two or three posts to get a sense for the writing style and content. I will then make my decision to follow or not.

  25. Sometimes, one is enough. Other times, I will read as many as three to five before I decide.

  28. Hey there! I’m really attracted to how a page looks, and how it reads. I like to get a feel for the energy by reading three random post (not necessarily in order), and then gauge if I want to follow or not 🙂

  30. I am desperately trying to think of a funny or inspirational one liner to join in.. but in the meantime, I usually look at one or two posts before following. Just because I never get around to reading everyone that I follow anyway, so I want to make sure that those that do end up in my reader are posts that I really want to see. If that makes sense 🙂

  33. I will follow a blog if one post interests me. I normally have a look if someone ‘like’s or comments on one of my posts. I do check in my reader to see what people are up to.
