I suppose I have to decide soon whether or not to take on the challenge of A-Z April this year. Last year I did it twice – here on this blog I talked all about writing and on my fiction blog I wrote a serial A-Z story. That was a lot of fun, mostly because I had no idea what was going to happen from one day to the next.
This year – I haven’t a clue what I’d do, even if I do do it. Who knows – it might just come out like a steaming pile of do-do.
Have you decided to take the challenge this year? If so, what’s your planned topic/theme?
Here’s the link to the event for anyone who’s interested: http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

Anything with the word “challenge” in it is more than my poor mind can cope with right now.

I bet. Most of the time I deal with my challenges in life by adding to them – which is really what I’m doing with this. There comes a point when enough is enough though… Hang in there, Joanne. 🙂

My theme is “I can’t believe I left it up to my readers to decide what I should right about”. Or just “Random” 😀

Write, even. See, not a good idea to make suggestions for what I should blog about. Typos abound!

Oooo! I might do this. It would be a very nice way to ramp up the writing once and for all. Got a few days to decide yet! 🙂 Thank you so much for posting this.

I looked at the link, but I still understand the challenge. Can you explain it to me? What exactly does one do?

The challenge is to write a post every day in April (except Sundays) that start with a letter of the alphabet. So for the 1st of April, you title your post with a word that starts with “A” – or write about a word that starts with “A” etc. Last year I wrote all about the subject of writing plus I wrote a fiction piece with a chapter every day … April 1st started with “A is for… Aarin, the Topless Pirate.”
Make sure you sign up today!

Thanks for the explanation, Linda! Hmmm… can I do this? I’ll have to think a minute! To make sure: you choose a topic, like you chose “random,” and every day you write something pertaining to your topic that starts with a title beginning with A and then on through Z.

My first A to Z was exactly that. A steaming hodgepodge of doo doo. But whatever works, right?

I’m doing the AtoZ again this year. Last year was lots of fun. I posted on 2 different blogs, and did not have a theme. This year will be only 1 and I do have a theme. Hey, theme reveal is tomorrow! Not sure I want to yet though. Good luck to all that do participate! 🙂

The sign-up list says it’s only good for the next 12 hours – if this is true, make sure you at least sign up! I look forward to your A-Z! I’m inviting people to share links in my next post – make sure you link your theme reveal when you get to it. 😀

I’m doing it this year (for the first time), so any advice would be gratefully received! My theme is a kind of A to Z Fantasy Squad – a Creature Feature, dealing with mythical and fantasy creatures in media. It should be fun 🙂

Oooh, that sounds cool! The only advice I can give is just keep connecting with other blogs. Doing so keeps your momentum going and will inspire you to make it through to the end. 🙂
Look out for my next post – you can link your blog there to help you get started with making connections. 😀 Apart from that, search for the tags “A-Z” and “fantasy” in your reader every day during the challenge.

I’m a cohost this year, so of course I’m doing it. I’m sure you saw how much fun it is. So, why not do it again this year? You don’t need a theme; I didn’t have one last year, just picked a bunch of words and did those. Perfectly cool.

A-Z is great – it keeps you going and it’s a great way to meet people – a few of our regular SoCS participants are those I met last April.

Right? How many things can there possibly be that start with X? Maybe the best idea is to do A-Z of made-up words. 😛
