One-Liner Wednesday – Would you like fries with that?

You know you’ve been editing too much when:

You’re upset that you can’t back up and correct the improper grammar you uttered into the drive-through speaker at McDonald’s. True story.

Anyone who would like to try it out, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Make it either funny or inspirational.

Have fun!

  2. Ha! I owned and drove tractor trailer for many years. I also had a little Chevette that my girlfriend drove when I wasn’t in town. When you back-up a tractor-trailer, you have to turn the steering wheel the opposite way than you do a car. So, at 30 years of age as a professional driver for 11 years, with a million miles under my belt, I was home for the first time in 3 months and decided to go to McDonald’s for lunch. I pulled into the parking lot and tried to back that little car into a parking space and kept turning the steering wheel the wrong way (as if I was in the truck). An older gentleman came over and suggested that I try turning the wheel the other way. One of the most moments situations of my life. 😀

    • Oh dear Paul. That’s definitely one for the books. Thank you for sharing this – it made me giggle.
Incidentally, I owned a couple of Chevettes (Acadians) in my younger years. They were such great cars, weren’t they? So much fun to drive!

      • Ha! Yep, mine was an Acadian (a ’76) too. You couldn’t kill it. Mind you it only had 85 HP, less than some large motorcycles. It served me well. I bought it new from a dealer where it was left over from the previous year. It was a bright orange and homely as hell. I felt sad for it because no one wanted it so I bought it. We homely folk have to stick together. 🙂 I used to get a kick out of going into the Chev dealer and asking for parts for my ‘vette. ha! When I had everyone’s attention, of course, I had to tell them Chev-ette, but it was great for a minute or two.

        • That’s funny! I used to refer to mine as my ‘vette too! 😀
My mother had an actual ’78 Chevette, (green) mine were a ’79 Acadian (green) four speed and an ’87 (red) five speed Acadian. I really miss them. One of my favourite things to do was drive them in the snow… being that they were rear wheel drive, you could really drive them!
