“I’m glad you’re not dead!” — What my best friend John said when I told him a transport truck had run me off the road and onto the (wide, thank God) paved shoulder beside the fast lane on the highway doing 120km/h (75mph) on Sunday, and almost squashed me like a bug.

Anyone who would like to try it out, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use the tag #1lineWed for more exposure.
Have fun!

Ha Ha! How nice of your friend to say! Hope you have got over the shock as that must have been a dreadful scare.

I know, right? He’s a practical one. It actually wasn’t that bad – another few feet however…

Well, darn, Linda – you could have done a long post on your experience! Not that I didn’t enjoy the one-liner post, but it sounds like there’s a lot more to the story. Now that you’ve survived, maybe you could write it someday.

It really wasn’t that big of a deal. I got pushed over 3/4 of a car width and the guy realized what he was doing and moved back to his own side of the road. If it had been a few more feet I wouldn’t be here to write about it. To dwell on that fact would be to never drive again…
Okay, I guess I could have written more. hehe 😉

You’re a better blogger than I am. I never, ever miss an opportunity to turn a minor event into a long-winded post!

Thanks, Kelli. 🙂 Yeah, bad drivers (especially ones in really really big trucks) are scary.

In Ontario they are supposed to be locked out at 110 maximum. He must have been from out of province or going down hill. I feel bad when one of the few asshole truck drivers rears his ugly head. I apologize on behalf of truckers. Whenever I saw assholes like that I called 911 and reported them.

He wasn’t going faster than he should have been, I was just passing him. As for calling 911, I didn’t want to take both hands off the wheel after that… and I sure wasn’t getting behind him again to get his plate number. 😛 Hopefully someone behind me made the call. 🙂
John (my best friend) teaches truck drivers to drive – he had a few more choice words that I didn’t bother to mention here. 😉

Thanks, Joey. It certainly made me pay more attention to what was around me every time I passed a truck for the rest of the trip.

Aha, there you are.
That was a lucky escape.
If you’ve had dozens of extra hits this morning, it was me checking to see if the link was up yet, so I could pingback today’s post, (I get so impatient with timezones, I think it’s all the time I spent on Skype with my wife before she moved here) because I’ve decided on a new format.
See what you think…

I actually always think of you, 5 hours ahead, on Wednesdays. Sorry about that. I’m currently reading your SoCS post. Blake just slipped on his faded “Fly by Night” t-shirt…
