One-Liner Wednesday – A Cup of Cheer

Went into Starbucks last night – no one asked the cashier to write “Merry Christmas” on their cup instead of their name. I’m wondering if I can go back and say my name is “Snowflake” without cracking a smile.

Anyone who would like to try it out, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Have fun!

  1. This cup nonsense is all so ridiculous! I worry about if there is some hispanic guy named Jesus who just wants a latte…he might need a bodyguard or something!

  8. That’s funny, honestly I like the simplistic design they did. Also why haven’t we all made a banner for One-Liner Wednesday’s yet?

    • I like it too – no idea what all the fuss is about. And I don’t know why I haven’t called for a One-Liner Wednesday badge yet. I’ll work on that when I get back from Japan. 🙂

  11. No kidding, my ex has a cousin named Mary-Christine, born on Christmas Eve. That’s her first name too, like Mary-Elizabeth and such.

  13. To quote the Tick, “I can’t change my name! It’s on all my stationery!”

Of course, you can do whatever you want. Although now I feel inspired to go into a Starbucks and insist my name is “Spanky McGee.”

  15. People who make a big freaking deal about the words on a cup have too much time on their hands. Does it really ANGER them or do they enjoy hearing themselves make a ruckus?
