One-Liner Wednesday – My Favourite Movie

“Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven-and-a-half-foot long, 54-inch wide gorilla?” ~ Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, played by Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein.

May Gene and Gilda rest peacefully and eternally together.

Anyone who would like to participate, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do,
you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our very cool badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

  3. Loved it! My favorite Gene Wilder film was Haunted Honeymoon. He and Gilda Radner were such a perfect couple.

  9. Testing… testing… neither my comment nor my pingback appear to have shown up here. Here’s the pingback, in case it never shows up: https://thesoundofonehandtyping.wordpress.com/2016/08/31/1linerweds-from-marshall-mcluhan/

Gene Wilder was at his best in the three Mel Brooks movies I’ve seen with him, “”The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” and this one. Matching him up with Marty Feldman was an inspired move.

    • Marty Feldman was an amazing actor too. They made a great team. 🙂
Not sure where your pingback went – or why these went to spam. I deleted the first comment because it said the same thing. Thanks for noticing, John. 🙂

Get out, give someone else a chance.☺He gave me a calmer brain, and…a somewhat more sophisticated manner of expressing myself. “☺

Just a few lines we used to quote with friends from this film. An all time favorite and for me, the best Brooks film ever, co-written by Wilder. May he rest in peace. He gave us so much joy.

  24. Great film.

I’m sure he loved Gilda enormously, but let us not forget that he married four times and is survived by his latest wife, who should be more in our thoughts than someone who is already past caring.

    His illness was kept secret because, according to his family;
“He couldn’t bare the idea of one less smile in the world.”

That says everything I need to know about a man I have admired most of my life, as one of the truly natural comedy talents of our generation.
