Just Jot It Jan 12 – Tingle, with Thursday Doors

One of the amazing things about writing a novel set in a real city is the opportunity to visit it. I went even further in my book, The Great Dagmaru, and had my main character, Stephen Dagmar, go to school at Queen’s University, in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. That I get tingles walking around the beautiful old campus is an understatement.

When I took these pictures, I thought of our dear departed friend, Paul Curran. He went to this school too. I hoped to show them to him, but I never had the chance.

Enjoy.

  2. I love all the stone as well as the doors. There’s just something about a stone building…

  3. Now I’m tingling from the trip down memory lane. Haven’t been on campus in many, many years. Does the Grad House still exist? Your character should visit — quite the place it once was.

  4. Lovely buildings 🙂 There are some places that literally take my breath away or give me goosebumps or both. In a good way… Old universities do that often (Princeton tops the list)

  6. This place is on my list when I do finally get to explore that area a little more.
The blue/grey ones are nice but I’m kinda partial to the main door to the Theological building.
Any idea why the flag was at half-mast? Just curious – I do realize it was a while ago so you may not remember…I’m just weird about noticing things like that 😉
    Wonderful post Linda 🙂

    • Thanks, Norm! I noticed that too when I uploaded the picture – I have no idea. A search of people who died around the time the photo was taken (July 10/16) turned up nothing.
Don’t forget to let me know when you’re coming this way! 😀
