Worry. What good does it do us? And yet we all do it. It’s what keeps us up at night, and makes us walk into rooms with no idea what we are there for. Because it causes us stress – the kind that separates our minds from what we should be focusing on.
I believe happiness can be found in the lack of seeking it. So I strive to be content with what I have. But I think true contentedness can only be found through the ability to transcend worry. To worry is to imagine the worst for the future. If this is true, then the answer is to live in the present. Not only to fully appreciate what I have right here and now — relatively clean air to breathe, simply that I am alive — but to fully concentrate on what I am doing at any given moment. In that moment, there can be no worry.
I have to strive to stop looking ahead to what might be. And love what is now.

I wish I could be like that but I would worry if I didn’t have something to worry about! 🙂

Wise words. I can be a dreadful worrier at times but am gradually learning there is no point in worrying over anything I cannot control, or worrying about the past which I cannot change.

It really does take practice, but staying in the moment can be done. Many of us bloggers feel that in-the-moment escape when we’re writing. 🙂

I’ll have to look it up. Unless you’ve already linked it. Some things I can’t see in these notification boxes.

Very wise. I find it hard to do though. I’ve been worried and pre-occupied this January and have only gotten around to writing for Just Jot It now.

I’ve been extra worried and preoccupied of late, too. And it really is difficult to stay in the moment. But it helps when you do finally manage it.
Thanks for writing a JusJoJan post, Suzanne. I look forward to reading it. 🙂

It is hard not to worry or have some fears. I know that from my own life. The thing is we don’t really have much control over what will happen and when. But it is hard to just let go of worry and thinking and stay focused on the present moment too.

It’s extremely hard and it takes practice. But it makes the world of difference if we’re able to achieve it, even for a few minutes a day. At least in my past experience. 🙂
