#ThursdayDoors – What the …

Just a quickie for Norm Frampton’s photo prompt, Thursday Doors. I’m looking for suggestions on what this might be all about. It’s been there for weeks.

It’s empty apart from the clear liquid – the darkness inside is just a reflection.

Guesses?

  1. We do this here in Appalachia. In the summer we get really bad drain flies (gnats) we take a plastic bag fill it with water add a few pennies and hang it over the kitchen sink. Believe it or not, it works. I heard it makes the bugs think it’s a bird (predator) eye. Restaurants and stores do it too here. I think that might be what this is in the picture.

  2. I don’t have a clue but Hugh’s answer looks the most likely! 🙂

  3. If you haven’t seen anyone going in or out, maybe it’s a human repellent, put up by the bugs. Seems to work 🙂

  4. Okay well that is weird. If it is a bug repellent, then this is the first time I’ve heard of it.

  5. I had heard of this before – apparently a fly repellent – bags of water with four pennies. I have no idea if it works.
