Once in a while I get a brilliant idea for a story–something that’s so mind-boggling, that I just KNOW it’s best-selling-novel material. I’ll be so excited that there’s NO WAY I’m going to forget this idea, but I write myself a little note, just to make sure.
Here’s one example, that’s been on my phone for almost a year:
I have no freakin’ clue what the story was going to be about.
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our very cool badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

Hahahaha! I do this ALL the time! Not just writing ideas, but random everyday things. One time, my girlfriend was looking through my notepad on my phone, totally mocking me for the random notes with one word on them..reading them out loud in a spectacular condescending tone… “573…Tumeric…Kelly at Dr Smith…grace…vulnerability…” I had ZERO clue as to what any of them were for. Even the nurse’s name at the doctor…I obviously wrote it down so I could document who gave me a telephone order, but did I actually do it??? Who knows???

I hate it when that happens. You begin something in your head and leave little notes about it to remind yourself and then you spend over a year trying to figure it out.

Sounds about right. One night I had a great long poem idea. Not wanting to wake my husband I just wrote it on a pad of paper with a pencil in the dark. Next morning I found there was no lead in the pencil and there were just a bunch of vague indentations on the whole pad.🙄😂

I put my notes in a real notebook that fits in my shirt pocket. Eventually I lose the notebook, pitch it on purpose or find I washed it in the laundry. Either way I have no clue either what was in it anymore.

I am laughing out loud, Linda!!! I relate sadly. I found a handwritten note from me I had written and I have no clue when I wrote this or what this one was all about it. Whew! Thank goodness I’m not alone in this. Tee hee …… Good one!!! 😂

I have an Evernote notebook that’s full of things like that. No idea what they were supposed to suggest. Good news is, you can make something new up.

I had a one-liner on Tuesday, so I’m tagging it here on Wednesday, ’cause that’s how I roll. In the future, I’ll do any one-liners I come across on Wednesday, like a good girl, ’cause I don’t really roll very hard. Well, That’s Creepy.
