…to look a lot like Christmas.
I had to buy a new tree. It came pre-lit.
Finally, I can literally plug the tree in.
(Photo: a fully decorated tree. Alex did it all by himself this year.)
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

It’s beginning to be a fairer world – more folks can just plug in and not mess with untangling the wires and checking bulbs! Congrats! The only lit decorations I have anymore are ‘wipe off the dust and plug in’ small decorations – but I remember the first tree I had that I didn’t have to mess over the lights with – – pure bliss and it was bought at after Christmas sale with giftcard my sister-in-law got for me for a place I purchased groceries from and we had good enough pantry I could ‘waste some of it” for next year’s ease – – LOL

I really should have bought a tree after Christmas last year. They’re much more expensive than I thought they’d be!

I, and my mother and I before that, would just throw a plastic bag over the tree and carry it to the basement after Epiphany. Next year, bring it up, unbag it, and plug it in. Much, much better than cutting a tree and arguing over the decorations, as my husband and the children did. At least two separate years, he opened the back door and pitched the tree into the back yard and the kids and I had to retrieve it and decorate it very quietly and peaceably. 😀

I like hanging the ornaments, but pre-lit trees are the best thing since sliced bread. 🙂

Nice looking tree! He did that by himself?
It’s a little late for this, but

He did! It’s helpful that at 20 years old he’s finally more than 5′ tall. Last year I was still decorating the top third of the tree.
Thanks, John!

Oh! I have had my operation, though I did have a set back and was readmitted with excruciating pain, vomitting and fever . Apparently I was sent home too soon ( due to covid operate then ship em out asap!) But slowly improving now.
I worry about you so stay well and safe.💜

Oh no! It’s really not a good time to be sick with any ailment. Glad to hear you’re improving.
I’ll live. I just need to get through the next couple of months. Sooo incredibly busy and stressed about everything. Thank you so much for caring, my friend. ❤
