One-Liner Wednesday – Hold me to it

I’m closing all my social media tabs until 4pm every day for the next week, and I’m recording my intention here so I have witnesses. I’ll let you know how I did (unless it kills me) on the 31st. Wish me luck!

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

  4. Best Wishes on your quest! I just broke my ‘personal’ trial period of asking myself, “Can I read, like only’ and not say a single thing back, in either support of, or sharing what has worked for me’ – but, well, new habits are formed and discernment still reigns, for myself, as an objective – and well – – I thought perhaps, sending you best wishes, ALL while breaking the rules of my own quest, might be of use to me – perhaps you? Who knows for sure, until we both walk the path of our own quests! ❤

    • I do appreciate your comments, so thank you for sacrificing your goals for both our sakes. ❤ Fortunately, I doubt anyone cares one way or another whether I'm on Facebook or Twitter until late in the afternoon. 🙂

  6. It’s an excellent idea, Linda. On days when I work on my WIP, I don’t open anything on line until after noon. It feel good to focus on one thing during that time. I bet you’ll like it.

  31. I must be out of the loop–recently heard several bloggers are disconnecting from FB, social media… I say, “good on you!” Too much is way beyond too much–which is why I only “socialize” on the blogs…with the mostly sane folks, of which I still count myself 🙂 Blessings to you, Linda💖 (I’ll be back with a One-liner later 🙂 )

  32. My phone has kindly decided to help me in a similar endeavour. Won’t connect to the WiFi unless it’s within 5 metres, my blue tooth earphones disconnect if I turn my head, my phone wouldn’t connect to Gmail or Google for more than a second yesterday. I feel I’m being weaned off an addiction.
