All the time I’ve blogged up until now–all four and a half years–I’ve been jobless. Okay, I have the 24/7 job of single-handedly looking after my two disabled kids, but other than a paper route, I haven’t had a job that paid me anything. I haven’t needed to work due to the money my kids receive from the government, thank goodness. But that won’t last forever. If one of them decides to move out, or if I don’t receive as much money when Alex turns eighteen next year (which I expect will be the case), I won’t have enough money to keep a roof over their heads.
Thus, the career in editing. And my forced inattention to my blog and those who support it. It’s not an “all or nothing” situation yet, but you might have noticed that I’m not visiting you as much lately. It’s not a case that I don’t want to, believe me. There are just so many hours in a day.
To be honest, I feel almost guilty enough to stop doing the prompts. Although you seem to be doing okay without my input, I feel like I’m being rude. Please know I’m doing my best.
In other news, I’ve been trying to get out for walks more often. This editing gig requires a lot of time sitting on my butt, and I decided that before I’m able to take up the entire couch by myself, I needed to get some exercise. Unfortunately, my beloved waterfront trail is under water at the moment. Here are some before and after shots:
So instead of walking down at the waterfront, I’ve been strolling around the neighbourhood, taking pictures of doors and flowers and bunnies.

I appreciate you still hosting your challenges, Linda. I know how hard it is not being able to blog as much as we want to, and it makes me feel terrible every time I get behind so I do understand your situation. I am always happy to see you when you can visit. I have a very good friend that I don’t get to see that often, yet I know she is there, and she knows I am here. It doesn’t lesson our friendship, and for me, it is the same with blogging! :-)💖💖

I think Linda we all understand your situation. It’s great when you can be there and you’re missed when you’re not here. But we know.
Great photos! Xxx

Hi Linda, I agree with the above. Life gets in the way, and you do have your hands full. Children come first and we all know you do your best. We know you are there, just post our prompts and get on with your life . I struggle to post most of the time let alone visit and comment! I love the photos. I think your neighbourhood looks amazing. 💜

That’s a wonderful idea we could all visit. That’s a thought could you take in a paying lodger. I know it’s not always convenient and not everyone wants to have a stranger in their home… Just a thought. Hugs for now. 💜

I love the pictures! You have a good eye. And don’t worry about looking at blogs. I learnt a long time ago that it’s better to just do it when you can. Once it feels like an obligation, the fun goes and and well, we don’t want that. 🙂

I think it’s fine. I don’t take it personally when people don’t visit, in hopes they feel the same when I’m pressed for time. This week has had me writing and reading less, and I believe that happens to everyone now and again.
I agree with Dan, if you need any help, let me know.

I agree with John, and I completely understand. I’m not taking care of ANY kids now, and I still have trouble keeping up with every blog I want to keep up with. So don’t worry about it. You’re doing a great job, Mom, Blogger, Author, Editor. I’m so glad you are taking care of yourself by walking and picture taking.

I should have written, don’t forget the visits, just visit what you feel like when it’s convenient. No sweat. ❤
