I don’t know why, but almost every time I write “humans” in my current work-in-progress (it’s vampire romance, so I use the word a lot), I write “human’s” in the possessive. It’s a weird brain glitch.
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

I hate it when some mistakes become habit.

I still, even just this morning! write biz communications using ‘other’s’ in possessive, instead of others in general usage to distinguish between inner team of work, outer needs to be met –
Sigh –
I also, recently (more times than can be told!) have been logged into my ‘paid for privilege of 24/7 chat support, learning how to navigate and helping you train your Automated/AI bot to route incoming things properly) have encountered, 20-30 minutes into ‘troubleshooting the reality of ‘this ain’t working as adverstised and help files/knowledge base, how to links appear to be out of date – help!’ inquries of mine, and assistance by front line staff, have sooner or later, included,
“How shall I address you?”
…and I’m stymied over the question – ?? I logged into my paid for quick help, always on standby, and was thanked for being logged in so support staff can more quickly assist me with my needs…???
So, I say, “My name is – my account name the same – my pronouns are she/her, ya can call me anything, just don’t call me late for dinner …and I don’t care what you call me to your friends at after work vent frustration time, just help me with – ….
LOL – -I’ve been told, 3 times in last 6 weeks, more information than what they were asking for – me?
Um, I was informed you already knew my name, from my paid, customer account – was just trying to guess what you were really asking – –
Sigh – old dawgs learning new tricks, I guess and possessive human labels on many fronts, still seem to be the spelling/grammar autobot check forms – even while, me and thee, in person or in our heart, know, for a fact, that’s not true, never really was, and updated tools are in need of getting with the program of reading our mind while saving us from our early training on such fronts – eh???
Modern Tech and Tools used are the same as growing old – not for wussies or cowards – LOL

Haha! Absolutely not. But I suppose there are still some out there who would be offended to be called “John” rather than “Mr. Smith.” 😛 😉

Yesterday I wrote a post about having “brain fog” and the weird things my brain is doing with words. There’s (theirs? lol) the ever-present to/two/too thing that I know damn well how to use, but my fingers keep making the wrong one. I’ve typed wait when I mean weight. On and on it has been going, and I can’t proof myself worth a darn. Just a long winded way to say: I feel your pane… pain. 🙂

I come across those occasionally in my writing two … too. 😉 Thanks for the … what do you call it? Commiseration. (I actually had to look it up. One of those words I can never remember.)
