AtoZ/What Day is it Anyway? Thursday, April 9th, 2020 – Home

My day today so far–1:48pm:

Home is not just where the heart is, it’s where most of us are. Alex and I have already been for our walk today. He didn’t have much fun because of the wind. I’m not sure if he’s afraid of being blown away, but he doesn’t like it. It snowed this morning; the sudden change from warmish to cold is the reason for the strong breeze.

But the buds of the leaves are beginning to show. I took this photo when I was down by the water the other day. A young willow, getting ready to sprout its leaves.

Yesterday:

Aside from yet another walk and yet another couple of hours in the car editing my novel, I don’t remember much of yesterday.

I took this:

Oh, and I drank half a bottle of wine last night.

That explains a lot.

Why I’m writing this post:

Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress and all over the Internet as well, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

I want everyone to know that you can start discussions with each other in the comments, and if you’d like to write your own “What Day is it Anyway?” post, you can link to this one. Hashtag #WDIIA.

Let’s keep in touch!

  4. It snowed a bit where I live yesterday as well. Now it’s sunny out, but still chilly.

  8. Hi Linda G! I I am definitely drinking a bit of wine at the conclusion of my work-from-home library shifts. Those Monday-through-Friday work hours keep my days defined. At 4 p.m., my dear wife Karen and I take off on our walks around our neighborhood blocks. She has been furloughed from her job and has shared how her days are blending together … You and Alex stay well!

  9. We’re probably drinking more wine too – we only have it with dinner but dinner is now usually early/mid afternoon so we’re starting earlier! lol (We moved dinner earlier because I figure if we’re getting less exercise overall eating a big meal late in the day is not the best idea!)

  11. I’m going stir crazy myself. It’s funny that people have been drinking more, I’ve found myself doing the same – It’s hard not to!

  12. We all seem to have the wine affinity as a result of the virus, although I sometimes switch it up and have an adult diet rootbeer float! LOL
I’m sorry you have to write in your car and that Alex does not care for the wind. At least you have a few moments of solitude from time to time. 🙂

  15. I lose some of the details of my days lately as well. It has to be the affect of this corona stress. Just ordered wine today. I haven’t been drinking it for a couple of weeks but feel like I want to have some supply too.

  16. Increased wine consumption seems to be another one of the effects of this virus. Every time I go to the grocery store I see them stocking the wine shelves. Wish they’d stock the toilet paper as quickly!
