What Day is it Anyway? #SoCS Edition Sunday, June 28th, 2020

I just realized “No news is good news” has taken on a whole new meaning. I decided yesterday that I had to get away from it all. All the noise of the outside world that I can’t do anything about except stare at in horror. It’s like sitting in front of a train wreck all day, hoping somehow they’ll clean it up, but with every new piece of metal they move, there’s something even scarier or more insidious underneath.

And yeah, that’s the cheerful place I’m in.

Flirting with the next most morbid snippet is invading every minute of my day. And if it doesn’t stop, I’m going to turn into a clump of fat and bones with a brain that won’t turn off. I recognized myself in an article yesterday. I’ll link it below.

For now, it’s coffee, tea, or me. I’m going to get my morning coffee.

But what I really need to choose is “me.”

  1. Oh, dear, Linda, I know exactly how you’re feeling. Like Dan said, Watch Less News, you’ll feel way better. It works for me every time I do that! xx to you!

  2. I’m glad you chose the me, hopefully with a pot of coffee or tea on the side. You deserve some time to chill. Stay healthy my friend!

  3. Good for you, Linda! I try to only take the bad news in small doses and balance it with my Good News Tuesday stories. But they design the bad news headlines to lure us in. We must resist!

  6. I don’t think the title of that article is quite accurate: It should read, “…is QUICKLY eroding your mental health.”

  9. Great post – can relate. I take Mental Health days away from social media. It helps to stay aware while not reading so many articles (fake or real) from all angles. Stay safe. Stay healthy! 🙂

  10. Oh! Linda I get what you are saying. Not only is the virus getting us down, all the selfish people doing stupid things are adding to the car crash we all all involved in. I wish I could do more than just reach out to you. I hardly watch any news, definitely don’t read any papers. Avoid Facebook , Instagram and Twitter! All I can say is try doing the same.
Only if you want to read these two #WDIIA posts they explain my absence.

Keep going Linda you are one of my heroes you have so much on your plate and you manage so well. This damn pandemic is getting us all down and the worse thing is it’s man made and man’s fault…those in charge prove time and time again that money is God! They don’t give a shit about our health especially those of us over 65 years( I know you are younger).
Stay safe Linda stay sane sending you lots of love 💜💜💜

  11. That article is why I stay locked down right here in the Blogosphere. Always something ‘normal’ to read. Try to grab more of that ‘me’ time, Linda. Rest easy and engage in self care.

  12. Watch Less News!

That’s what I tell my friend when he calls me with a thousand questions about “the latest” and I’m ready to scream.

I hope you have an easy Sunday and a good week, Linda.
