Is it just me, or does everyone buy nice notebooks and decide nothing is good enough to write in them, so they just stay empty and pristine?
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

You’re definitely not the only one. I have several that I haven’t written in and several that I started writing in and quit because the entries just seemed so wrong for the exquisite books.

I think all writers just about have plenty of empty, pretty notebooks etc. to write on. We can’t seem to use the ones we have and always buy more. I know I do.

I have several that are 1/4 to a half full. Then I buy another one because they’re just so pretty! Plus, I inherited a couple from my parents that are the same way.

I keep buying sticky notes in hope they help me be organized, to be continued…. No blog post needed, one line, is really, enough, and says it all – past, present and future.

Hoping to be organized is a lifelong task for many of us, it seems. *sigh*

I submit the ‘hypothesis’ we provide other things for many, in our life, other than a perfectly organized life, complete with color codes notes stuck to our forehead so other’s understand, such things are not are main job in life, because we forgot where we put the ‘note’ for to-do (on our forehead, so we wouldn’t forget where the note was….” LOL

I showed up at loved one’s home abode, with curler still in my bangs to keep them out of my eyes, that I forgot to remove, before leaving house, and reading glasses from dollar store on head, and, then, at Dr’s office, started digging in my purse, to find my reading glasses to sign the 3 page information report to …sign my life away? Give the okay to share records with everyone? promise I can bully my loved one into following every granular demand of 14 different specialists who give conflicting information on what to do/what not to do?
LOL – all I can say is, over and over, loved one notices curler still in bangs, when such things happen, but worries I’m not getting to eye doctor regularly enough, when I start looking for my ‘read the fine print’ that few, if any ever really do in the ‘hurry ya through’ the health care system as it currently exists, and why sign or do anything? It’s not like they can find the ‘scanned in record’ you provided last week/three months ago, anyways, which means, I was too busy re-arranging the file folder to take with relevant forms/information, for THIS provider, for today, again, to mess around with silly things like curlers or reading glasses – I mean, really, which is more important? How I look? Can I read before signing (even if I end up with three pairs of reading glasses between purse, records bag and my head) OR having the relevant paperwork, and answering questions for the 1,000th time, at least…. so loved one doesn’t die from wrong information logged in house…if at all – sigh – – Sorry – but thanks for listening! Grrr…. technology seems to only result in yet another offload of responsibility of time to those who pay through the nose, in hopes they buy back some time to focus on everyday life needs of those they love – but what am I saying??? I surmise you know this drill, very well and arrgghhh! I just ‘offloaded’ to a person who has dealt with such things for a long time, and probably wonders, “yeah? so….what?? where have you been, to not have noticed???” –
Well, I’ve been running around for years with a curler in my bangs and reading glasses on my head, while tripping over my own feet, truth be told – – – Hope I made ya laugh, even while, I said things that aren’t really, that funny, overall, in the end, for any of us, including the front line staff of the places I visit for loved one’s care…..

You are not alone. I have this beautiful journal, it is hand made, tooled leather, hand-made paper, hand binded, etc., etc., etc. I paid a small fortune for it and I simply cannot make myself use it, NOTHING is good enough to go in there ROFL.

haha! No, you are not alone in keeping cute notebooks without ever writing in them. I have at least two dresser drawers full of them, plus stacks and baskets also. I think I’ll write in them, but nothing is good enough to mess them up. 🙂
