One-Liner Wednesday – New book next week!

Nailed – Book Four of the Once a Week at Woody’s series is dropping next week.

And here’s the cover!

Alexa has a great job, great friends who she loves going to Woody O’Flanagan’s Pub to watch the strippers with, and a crush on one particular stripper/carpenter. If only she could get her living arrangements sorted out and figure out why her crush is so secretive, her life would be perfect.

Bruce has a secret. His baby daughter didn’t start out as a secret, but when he goes out on a coffee date with Alexa and finds out she doesn’t like kids, he clams up. But he’s okay only seeing Alexa on the Saturday nights he works at O’Flanagan’s anyway, right?

When Alexa makes a complete fool of herself at a Saturday night show, she swears she’ll never show her face to Bruce again. But fate has other plans. Ones that tie in with her living arrangements and Bruce’s full-time job … with the other kind of wood.

Hilarious and sexy, this single dad, forced proximity romance takes place at the pub where everyone feels like family and no one goes home without a happy ending.

It’s not up for sale yet – link to come!

(Sorry for the loooong one-liner.)

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

The Cost of Self-Publishing

Another great article and an upcoming freebie from Steve Vernon, Storyteller.

Steve Vernon's avatarYOURS IN STORYTELLING...

First off, I operate  my self-publishing business on a deep discount budget that would make Loblaws-shilling William Shatner look like a piker.

I make my own covers or use a Fiverr cover service. I do my own formatting. I do my own promotion. I do my own editing.

I am NOT saying this is the best way to do it. I truly WISH I could afford an editor – but budgetary constraints are a reality in my world.

So I was pretty interesting in reading these two separate versions of the very same story – how much does it COST to produce a self-published novel?

Take a look for yourself.

Lisa Medley, Missouri indie author, has this to say about how much it costs.

Ben Reeder, Missouri indie author, has this to say in reply.

As for myself – well, I spent absolutely NOTHING on the creation of my latest…
