Snow Like Coral

Everywhere you look, the snowbanks, though dirty from the mixture of sand and salt, have melted partially and become delicate lacy formations, much like coral.

It’s difficult to get a good picture of it. It’s very pretty though. If you click on the picture you can see the detail.

So there you have it. Enjoy my dirty snow.

Although it may look pretty, I don’t hold back in saying that I am ‘pretty’ sick of the stuff. 🙂

You’re going to have to forgive me… but what immediately came to mind after your mention of dirty snow was Frank Zappa… if you don’t know what I’m thinking I’ll write the line from the song for you…

Without looking it up, the snow’s not yellow. Am I close?

Yes… I know it’s not yellow but as I was reading, and understood completely what you were saying it started playing in my head “watch out where the huskies go…” along with Stink-Foot and Nanook Rubs It. I had a copy of Apostrophe, you know, the album… My brother bought it first. 🙂

That’s the line I was thinking of, yep. 🙂 I’ve never heard the entire album – my ex used to sing that song.

In that case I’m sorry. Neither of mine listened to Zappa. My brother is the one who turned me on to him. I did find a CD when I was a 41-year old freshman and listened to it to fill my journeying around campus…

Saturday it was 60 degrees. I wore a tee shirt and a light sweater to work. Today, I’m wearing a turtle neck and heavy coat. It’s going to snow tonight and tomorrow.

All of our snow has melted, and in the last few days, the ground finally began to dry. Of course, we’re getting some more snow tonight.
