Friday’s here and so am I with your Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt. Actually, I’m writing this Thursday to schedule for tomorrow because we’re in the middle of a storm that’s forecast to include sleet, ice pellets, rain, a flash freeze, then snow and 60mph winds. We’re in the ice pellet stage as I write this. I’m probably going to lose my power … and hopefully not my roof. So here’s your prompt, with an extra dose of hope:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “cozy.'” Use it any way you like. Have fun! (And Merry Christmas if I don’t come back before then!)
After you’ve written your Saturday post tomorrow, please link it here to this week’s prompt page and check to make sure it’s here in the comments so others can find it and see your awesome Stream of Consciousness post. Anyone can join in!
To make your post more visible, use our beautiful SoCS badge! Just paste it in your Saturday post so people browsing the reader will immediately know your post is stream of consciousness and/or pin it as a widget to your site to show you’re a participant. Wear it with pride!!

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com/
Here are the rules:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing (typos can be fixed), and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. I will post the prompt here on my blog every Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a particular subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The,’” or will simply be a single word to get you started.
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours. Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read all of them! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later or go to the previous week by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.
8. Have fun!

Stayed ‘cozy’ during the arctic blast and falling temps that swooped onto the Plains of Colorado – no frozen pipes, no power outages – some internet down time, but that is not life threatening – and as temps slowly moved from ‘um yeah, ya could die!’ version, as the storm front moved east – my gratitude for me/mine was given quickly, then my heart and focus turned eastward – for folks I know who live ‘here, there, are currently stuck, over here’ during holiday travel – Hope you and yours are safe, warm, have heat, water, food of some sort, as the storm barells down and settles over your ‘neck of the woods. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Linda – may you and yours be blessed with strength and grace that you never fail to hearten me with, through your words and way of being, here in cyber land.

well – um, I ain’t always ‘here’ and figure, folks don’t laugh at me as much as I do at myself – somehow, making fun of one’s self doesn’t seem to garner as many laughs as it used to…but, well, I’m always slow to change – sigh – thanks for putting up with me while I try to change! 😀

We did well, actually! Only lost our power twice, and both times it was brief. Hope you did well too! Thank you!

I started out mopey with this prompt (tis the season?) but was grinning by the end of it. Thank you for that, Linda. I hope you and your family are safe and cozy through the winter storm, and that you have a wonderful holiday season & wishing you a good new year! ♥ Thanks for all the prompts, through all of the years.

Perfect prompt. I hope you don’t lose your electricity and keep some power either way.

We only lost our power briefly a couple of times. There are still people who haven’t got it back since the 24th, though!

I hope those people are finding ways to keep warm and get the power back soon. Glad you only lost yours briefly. We’ve lost electricity for several days during hurricanes, but the heat was not life threatening.

Like when we lost our power for 3 days in May. The weather was perfect after the tornado went through. The one positive of losing power in the winter is you don’t have to throw out everything in the fridge. Just pack it in the trunk of the car. 😛
But there were warming centres where they lost power. I don’t think anyone has died here, not like south of the border, poor souls. 😦

I’m glad there have been no known deaths there in Canada. Maybe Canadians are used to figuring out how to stay warm. It is hard to fathom people freezing to death these days.

Indeed it is. Though I understand a lot of casualties were people stuck in cars rather than at home. 😦

I read about a young woman who died in a car. She had been on her way home from work. A man who lived not far away found her. So sad.
