JusJoJan24 the 26th – Who knew I’d miss it?

This post is part of Just Jot it January, and today’s prompt was kindly provided by Jemima. Check out her blog here!

Here in Ontario, Canada, we’ve had some pretty atrocious snow storms. I remember one year—I think it was in 1977—when the snow came down so hard and fast and there was so much wind, it completely buried our back door. There was a five-foot window above the door and the snow covered half of that too.

But that was then.

Now we have all this rain coming down, and it’s almost February!

I miss the snow. I miss the predictability of it.

And I miss winter feeling like winter, no matter how much I inevitably complain about it.

This strange harking-back post is part of Just Jot it January! Want to join in? Just click here to get to the prompt and drop your link. It’s fun!

Thanks again, Jemima, for the prompt!

Interesting – worst blizzard and loss of animal life and huge drifts, with dust storm where I lived, before, then the snow and traveling to home place after highways cleared, much later, was in winter of 1976-1977. many cattle died, where they stood, in the fields, that storm…sigh –

It was – most knowledge I have within me, that I never forget, always had a strong emotion attached to it, joy, sadness, etc. As long as I learn it, don’t emotionally ‘relive’ and just use it as a ‘bookmark’ for myself and to find common ground/experiences with others – well, to me, it’s still useful. 🙂

That’s an excellent philosophy and an even better way to look at the experiences we have, all of us. ❤

Thus far, it works for me, if only I don’t lose sight of it, forget it, or shut it down trying to ‘fit in/be polite’ in circles that have zero desire to say, “Well, for now, this rather sucks…” for fear they will somehow sink themselves if they ever once sit with the unpleasant aspects of life, no one, truly can escape… overall – 😀

It is scary when there are so many changes in weather. It is happening everywhere. Early mornings are chilly, for us, because we have never had a winter. It has never been like this before.

I totally understand…. I remember when I was a child and again more recently snow is wintery and in a strange way it’s cosy…. But then it goes to slush and then it melts… But we can cope with that. Rain ….it’s just relentlessly wet! 💜💜💜
