This is just one day—1,100 views by 1,100 visitors on 1,100 posts. The bots are busy!

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

I’ve had this same anomaly 4 or 5 times and called customer service because I thought it might be a hack or something else. They told me it looks like legit traffic. I’m still not buying it but I guess if it isn’t doing any damage??? How could we tell if someone was ripping us off????

I haven’t looked too deep into it but yes, I’ve gotten lots more views starting back in August with around 1,000 plus, but the worst day was Nov. 3rd with over 4,000! since then it’s been up and down with the smaller thousands, but occasionally a normal day for me is barely 100! hahaha 🙂

Right? Aside from January, my monthly averages per day are usually around 80-90. This month it’s 413 so far. I had a day last week with 2200 views/visitors – my highest yet.

I got some notifications over the last week for really higher than average views (like over 700).

I figured I wouldn’t be alone in this. Isn’t it strange, though?

I’ve had two really good days on stats views (most from the USA according to the breakdown) and now back to normal!

The bots hit me last week, stayed the week, and disappeared. By the way, here is mine for the day:https://loucarrerascarver.com/2025/11/12/oneliner-wednesday-11-12-2025/

I haven’t seen such a huge number but have gotten several notifications of “booming” stats. Too bad it isn’t actual people visiting.

That’s quite a jump! I’m not seeing that sort of bump but there have been days when there’s a boost and my filter is catching more spam comments.

And yet your comment prompted me to check my spam … There’s 1 (you read that right: ONE) spam comment from nine days ago, and that’s it. That has NEVER happened before. There are usually at least 100!

“My stats are booming!” Yep, I see this at least once or twice a week. Welcome to the machine.

Once upon a time they did, but with the introduction of bots, they’ve really lost all meaning.
