Insomnia

I have discovered what this insomnia thing people speak of is all about. Last night for the first time in many years, I experienced it.  And while I was tossing and turning, trying to find that sweet spot where I could settle enough to drift off, it came to me. Insomnia is for people who can choose their own bedtimes!

My kids have been gone since Wednesday and aren’t coming back from their dad’s for another week, so I’m anticipating a few restless nights to come.

Anyway, while I was laying there with the clock mocking me at 4:39am, I came up with what, at the time I thought a brilliant idea. I kept repeating it over and over in my head – not because I wanted to but because it wouldn’t leave me. It was this:

The internet was so vast, she could only end her sentences with commas,

What do you think? Brilliant? Or simply the product of an overactive brain?

Oh, that’s embarrassing! The first statement was suppose to have the word ellipse. I assumed that was what I wrote. The last was supposed to be a play on that. **Face-Palm** Dyslexia!!!!!

I love the ideas that come at 3am. Sometimes they’re complete nonsense, and sometimes they’re the start of a wonderful story. I hope you do something with this!

I shall dub thee Comma Girl… I chuckled because most comments and emails I don’t write sentences… I write what I call continuation of thought… with a dot dot dot linking one thought to the next… someone once even mentioned to me in an email that they had never seen someone use the dot dot dot thing so much…

Maybe, since your kids aren’t there, you have a lot of private time and no one nit-picking at you. So, the over-activeness takes over in your brain.

They say that if you’re having issues sleeping, after about 20-30 minutes, get up and do something for 30-60 minutes. As for the prompt I don’t know about this one. Needs more context.

wow…I have to get back to the storyboard…. that answers how this works… wait, haven’t checked email…

Yes, ye old Oxford comma…. I really liked the line…

Here’s something… my daughter, a friend, and I were having lunch with margaritas yesterday. Our friend said “Margaritas and a bologna sandwich is fine by me”. I said, “That sounds like a chapter” but she thought it’d make a good book title.

Well thought, it’s better than ending everything with a coma,
