One-Liner Wednesday – Dance

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey

Made with Canva @ canva.com

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

One-Liner Wednesday – Updates

Update: I still don’t have any results from Alex’s test–maybe no news is good news? Also, I may need a new car.

Also, the neighbours went all out on the Halloween decorations.

One-Liner Wednesday – The line

Considering my job is to throw the worst that could happen at the characters in my books, is it any wonder I worry about my kids all the time? Which leads to the question, where is the line between parenting and fiction drawn, since life is stranger?

One-Liner Wednesday – Just because you’re small …

With enough determination, even the smallest of us can achieve great heights.

#SoCS – Weighing in

Okay, curds and whey weren’t the first thing that came to mind when I saw this video on The Weather Network …

Trigger warning–spiders ahead.

But that would account for Miss Muffet’s extreme fear of spiders.

I’ve spent the better part of the last few days obsessed with Hurricane Dorian. I’d like to donate something, somewhere, but I haven’t decided where yet.

As you probably know, it hit Canada today. Our eastern provinces are still getting walloped as I write this. Once it’s finished with us, it will apparently be on its way to the western part of Europe. Is this normal? I don’t think so.

I hope, for the Caribbean’s sake especially, it’s the last hurricane of the year. Such a terrible situation.

Echo-cho-ho #JusJoJan 2019 Jot #21

Before I get into my post, I want to start by saying that it’s Monday morning and I’m feeling positive! Alex is getting better, though he’s still not back to school. It was cold enough that the buses aren’t running today, so it’s likely too cold for a kid who’s getting over pneumonia to breathe out there. Tomorrow, though! Fer sher.

I remember the first time I heard my voice echo. I don’t remember where I was, but I do remember the frustration of not being able to hear the beginning of the word I uttered because it was always muffled by the end of the last echo. I recall trying to hear it by using shorter and shorter words, but even “Hi” came out “Hi-i-i.”

But the word “echo” got me thinking about other things. Because there’s really nothing truly unique in the world, everything is an echo of what came before it. Never exactly the same, just like a real echo. History repeats itself, stories are retold in different ways, yet nothing is original.

Makes you wonder how it all started, doesn’t it? I blame the chicken. Or was it the egg?

“Echo” is the prompt word for today, brought to us by Lady Lee. Thanks, Lady Lee! Click here to find her JusJoJan post for today. And say hi while you’re there!

One-Liner Wednesday – Precognition or Coincidence?

What are the odds I’d come across this picture now, after forty-seven years–and what are the odds of giving him yellow hair and orange skin in 1971?

Obviously I was practicing my signature for when I became a famous artist. Haha.

If I’d known then what I know now, I’d have given him smaller hands.
