Remember the pretty icicles?
Look! No more icicles!
And no more eavestroughs too!

This year has been exceptional for ice. Still, I think I’ll take precautions next year. I’m sure having heated wires on the roof will cost less than replacing the eavestroughs every year. 😛

Dang. Our neighbor had to leave a few of his on, because he knew if he broke them, they’d pull the eaves down en masse! They’ve melted now.

It was the weight of the ice sliding off the roof that brought them down. It’s been melting and freezing on a weekly if not daily basis, and it just keeps building. The front of the house will probably be next. Can’t wait.
It’s actually funny, because my insurance agent called on another matter about 10 minutes after it happened. So I was all like, “By the way…. do you cover ice damage?” Haha. He’s looking into it. But he said the deductible will probably be about as much as getting them reinstalled professionally.

I’ll give it a pat and say it was from Deborah. Thanks, my dear. 🙂
On a happier note, the car is doing better. Not perfect, but at least it didn’t try to run anyone over today. 😛
