Down For the Count

29. Count ’em. I slept for 29 hours yesterday and into this morning. It seems I caught the dreaded stomach flu bug that’s been going around hereabouts for the last couple of weeks. I just hope I don’t give it to the kids. Luckily, they weren’t here yesterday. Who knows what I’ve left it on though.

I’m feeling better today. Coffee is my gauge – if I’m able to drink it, I’m good. And I did. So yippee for me.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my blog. I’ll get back to you once I’ve done everything I should have been doing yesterday. The worst part is, I had a weekend off and didn’t even look at my manuscript. Damn it.

=/ Just saw this. So sorry to hear the news. Agreeing with Jenni … make sure not to push yourself too hard for a few days at least.

Feel better, Linda. No need to reply – I know you’re resting (or at least, should be).

Hope you’re feeling better! Be careful to take it easy so you don’t relapse.

I love that you mention coffee. I do that too!! I avoid caffeine and dairy products when sick ( it makes congestion worst for me) so i do the coffee test when i’m really a little bit better lol.

Ooo not good, take it easy until you feel better. Those bugs can really mess with you if you’re not careful

Hope you’re feeling better soonest. Sometimes the body hangs on just long enough to make it to a break, and then collapses for a day or two. I’ve had this happen before on a couple of occasions after a very stressful day or period.

Thanks, Nav. Funny you should say that. I was thinking earlier that I often get sick when the kids aren’t home, but rarely when they are. Not that I’m sick often anyway, but still. You might have something there.

Sleep is an excellent way to spend the hours of pain during sickness. It’s like being put into a trance whilst something unpleasant is happening to you.
