It was a great month for blogging, wasn’t it? I met some really fantastic bloggers during the A-Z Challenge this year and although I started off visiting you all, I kinda fell off as time went on. I still hope to get caught up on all your posts!
My excuse – April was a tough one for me. My stress level finally reached the boiling point on Thursday and I literally ran away from home, meaning I made sure the kids were taken care of and I zzzoomed on outta here and spent the night at my mother’s empty condo. Which makes this both my reflections post and my unofficial “Z” post rolled into one.
My task for the month of May is getting rid of the above mentioned condo. Lawyers, real estate agents, auctioneers and moving trucks will be a huge part of my immediate future.
Just to reiterate, I WILL be doing One-Liner Wednesday and the Friday Stream of Consciousness prompts for the rest of May, and hopefully I’ll be up and running my blog as per usual in June. Don’t forget, you can still find me every day at my fiction blog here: http://lindaghillfiction.com/ … I can’t possibly stop writing altogether. And, of course, I’ll be editing my novel in the hopes of getting it published this year.
As a random note, I’ll be turning off the comments on my “K is for Key” post. For some reason the spammers are targeting it – I’m getting two or three spam comments on it every day. Weird.
Be well my friends and fellow writers. I wish you a wonderful month of May.

I’m sorry this is your May. I wish you a bearably swift and straightforward process…and many deep breaths of lilac infused air….
I fell off with visits, too…I was drafting novels, and scrambling to stay above the challenge, and then, toward the end of the month, the kids and I went out of state for a four day visit with friends – always wonderful, but other than blogging focused…
I hope to do better next year ….
And I’ll be thinking peaceful thoughts for you!

The Arabs have some wonderful curses that you can use on spammers. Like: May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your genitals. Ha!

Thanks very much, Glazed. Meeting the auctioneer tomorrow – just got off the phone with him. Hopefully all this will be behind me soon.

Good luck with the condo. We have the same thing going on here and it’s a headache. Strange about the spammers, but I think they’re bots that target certain tags. Not sure, but I still have posts from a year ago that get spam comments. It’s weird.

I know – the really bad spammers that Akismet picks up are on my birthday post from 2014. I get about 20 a day on that post.
Thanks very much, Charles. Good luck to you too!

They go after my ‘Allure of the Gypsies is Live’ post from December 2013 a lot. Wonder if you can change the Akismet settings to catch those.

As far as I know they just do what they do and that’s it. Problem is, if you define what they pick up too much you can end up losing legitimate comments.

Good point. A pox on whoever created spam and spambots. Preferably a pox that includes some type of unsightly rash.

Good luck on all accounts, Linda. I am fortunate it will be a long time before I’m selling my parents’ stuff in any part. I do get to watch them currently go through it for my grandparents, and they’re kicking and screaming. Keep the stress low and the fun high. Much love.

Kicking and screaming is all part of it. It’s seriously not easy.
Thanks very much for the good wishes my friend. 🙂
