What Day is it Anyway? #SoCS Edition Saturday, May 30th, 2020

Sorry I’ve been so scarce ’round here the past few days. They’ve been rough ones. But I’m sure you don’t need me splayin’ my woes on the screen …

I’ve been too tired to stay awake and too restless to go to sleep. Does that make sense? Maybe I need more naps.

We finally got out for a walk today. First time in a week. It’s downright cold tonight after the scorching heat we had on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It feels good to have cold feet again.

The poppies are growing nicely in the neighbour’s front yard.

I have to get up early and go to the grocery store tomorrow. I think even after all this worry is finished I may stick to going once a week. It’s making me more cautious about what I buy and saving me money, I think, in the long run. Plus, since I go so early in the morning, the only thing I’m craving is coffee, so the impulse buying is at a minimum.

There’s nothing more expensive than going shopping when you’re hungry, after all.

  1. So sorry you’ve felt off the last few days, Linda! We are here and will listen if you need to vent or talk. Sending a big hug! ❀

  2. Shopping while hungry always causes problems – “why did you buy so many cookies?” I hope you have a good week, Linda.

  3. I also understand being too tired to stay awake and too restless to sleep. Sometimes listening to a guided meditation helps – my body and mind rest and I might even get a nap in the process. Here’s one I like : Take care, Linda.

  4. Lovely poppies!

Going shopping when you are down in the dumps is expensive too since you feel you should buy stuff just to feel better—- “retail therapy “

  5. True – less going/shopping = less $ spent! And going early in the morning when coffee is the only ‘call for help’ from the brain is EXCELLENT way to save $ – I can attest/back up your experential data experiment – πŸ™‚

That said, thanks so much for posting the pic of the poppies – around here? My poppies were podded out and about ready to bloom, when a late cold front, preceded and followed by dry hot days, were ‘nipped in the bud’ – one neighbor has some poppies going, but not many poppies around this year – so nice to see a beautiful display of them!
Hang in there! I will share with you – being to tired to do much and to exhausted to sleep, is, for me, often the result of being overwhelmed with many ‘consequences’ to be taken care of, that I, myself, have little control over ‘finding a way through/solution’ and I tend at times, to ‘get lost’ in the crap I can’t do anything about, instead of shoving it from my mind and focusing really well on the things I CAN do – I have done this little ‘dance number’ often in me life – when Life and the decisions of others (that were perfectly logical for them, and best for them) adversely affected me – that said, my only data collected thus far, for me, is these two ‘facts’ for me – A. Okay, do not resist – surrender/sink into it fully – waste an afternoon or an evening or a day, fuming, and walking through it – and B. Trim the amount of time/energy one (me) spends on such operations –

My ‘thus far long term analysis’?

I no longer waste months or weeks or days on such things, I tend to spend less time in A operations each time it comes up –

Now, there are many spiritual, religious and happy-wappy, positive thinking folks that will tell you I’m damaged, wrong, etc., and maybe that is so – my only ‘explanation’ of why I still face such things in such a way, is, I may be a lot of things, but my last held onto ego thing is, “I’m Not a Coward and I’m not afraid to stand on the battlefield of my internal world and face my ‘dark side’ – πŸ™‚
Hang in there babes – you do so many things that just awe and inspire me – give yourself a frickin’ break – cuz in my eyes? You tackle every day so many challenges I’m not certain I would walk through with as much grace as you do – :). ❀

  10. I do understand what you mean when you say “Too tired to stay awake, too restless to sleep”, also it is cheaper to shop once a week it does say. The poppies look lovely. Take care Linda thinking of you and sending love πŸ’œπŸ’œ
