One-Liner Wednesday – Noooooo!

I lost Wordle yesterday after a 145-day streak. Who else plays this stupidly frustrating game?

Photo: Screenshot of my Wordle stats: 180 games played, 99% won, current streak 0 games, maximum streak 145 games.

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

  6. I just noticed that I hit 200 today with 100% record. But that’s not correct because I definitely stuffed one up in there sometime and I’ve also forgotten one day. So the longest streak is only 76. I have to figure a way to stop this stupid addiction.

  7. I play it when I have time. Not every day. It may say it is a game I view it as mental gymnastics and nothing more. I try to vary my first word. If you choose well it gives clues which way to go. If not oh well !

  9. I’m hooked! So far doing okay but I’ve never gotten the word in less than three tries.

    • The one I got off the bat was the starter word I’m still using. I tried changing it (because obviously it’s never going to come up again as the word of the day), but I did so much worse without it that I switched back. My two-guess puzzles were lucky guesses as were a lot of my three-guess answers.
      It’s so addictive!

  10. My mom plays Wordle every day. I do not but can relate to losing a big streak on a different game!

  22. I don’t play but my spouse and elder daughter do. They post their results in our family chat every day. No keeping track of streaks, though.

  25. I lost yesterday, too 😦 I didn’t have a long streak going, I had lost once in June. I hate it when you have the 1st, 2nd and last letter and you can think of 8 words that work.

  26. Yes Wordle is very frustrating. Initially I played along with the kids and we were definitely competitive. My longest streak is 63 I think but my eldest son took great delight in posting a screenshot of his 100 % record and 100 streak which beat all of us. I think he got up to about 130+ before finally failing.
