I know I said I’d be around more this month, but in my defense, I’m proofreading one book, editing one book, re-reading one book (all three are mine), writing an epilogue, taking an ad course, looking after two sons and a house, and worrying that my country will be invaded. Sooo, maybe next month?
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
5. Have fun!

Linda,
Life seems to have a way of stacking tasks like an overenthusiastic Jenga tower—each piece carefully balanced until one unexpected thought about world events threatens to topple it all. Your list of responsibilities reads like a reminder that time bends strangely when we’re busy; a month can feel like a breath, yet a single day can stretch endlessly when the to-do list stares back at us.
Maybe the real joke is that “next month” is always a mirage on the horizon—close enough to imagine, but forever shifting forward. Still, good intentions are the currency of the universe, and perhaps that’s enough to keep the game going.
Wishing you the illusion of free time and a Jenga tower that somehow stays standing.
Best,
Kalyan

Wow!
Life is full lately!
Knitting and music are my meditation of choice. I treasure our friends north and south. Many bits of varied yarn make a beautiful garment, and songs that improv can give a soul freedom to fly.

Please know that I will not be part of the invasion force, and I do not support the efforts to ruin the relationship between our two countries. Sheesh, who ever dreamed that I’d have to write something like that.

Just don’t worry, let go and let God.
I’m not worried about an invasion, because what does worrying do? It doesn’t change a thing. Just live your life and know what will be, will be.

If only it was that easy. But not worrying about it means not preparing for it should it happen. I certainly will not lay down and just let it be, not for myself, not for my neighbours, nor for my children.

I’m much more in favor of Canada adding some new provinces. The Northeast, where I live, would be a great economic asset for Canada and, if DT tries to suspend the Constitution, our mostly blue states might be looking to join with you to regain our democratic freedoms.
If DT orders the military to invade, they should refuse the order because it would be unconstitutional and a violation of international law and treaties. If they did regardless, NATO would immediately come to Canada’s defense. I would hope that there would be immediate impeachment and removal from office for the president, vice-president, and key Cabinet members but only if the Congressional Republicans grow a spine.
I am truly sorry that my country is causing so much damage and turmoil, in Canada and the rest of the world, as well as domestically. Millions and millions of us are opposing DT and I pray that we can keep you safe and secure there in Canada.

That’s so thoughtful of you, JoAnna. I hope that our Canadian friends will recognize that most people in the US respect them as great neighbors in a great country, unlike our current president.

❤ We're starting to make some headway in the courts but everything is slower than it needs to be. There are increasing public protests, so maybe some of the Congressional Republicans will grow a spine and take up their constitutional responsibilities.

I really hope so, though I suspect Mango Mussolini has dirt on them all that would devastate them and their families if it got out.

Linda, you have some nicknames for DT that I hadn’t seen elsewhere! 😉
Some of the Congressional Republicans are worried about the threat of primaries from even more rabid Trumpers, while others are scared by threats of violence against them and their families. I think that the better way to protect their families than caving to Trump/Musk/Vance is to resign from Congress because they are unable to carry out their oath of office, in which they swear to uphold the Constitution, not the president.
