Happy Book Birthday to The Magician’s Blood!

It’s publication day for The Magician’s Blood! The second book of The Great Dagmaru Gothic paranormal romance series is a fair shade darker than the first, The Magician’s Curse.

The magician, Stephen, and his lovely assistant, Herman, are heading off on tour after their difficult beginning. But surprises await them as her father makes a prediction and Stephen’s incubus bloodline makes itself known for the first time in generations. Can Stephen and Herman’s love endure?

“… I could not put this book down! Much like the curse that holds Stephen Dagmar under its control, I tore into this book, reading into the wee hours …” ~ Colleen Chesebro (read her full 5 star review here on her blog).

The official description of the book:

Award-winning author Linda G. Hill brings you the second book in her modern-day Gothic romance series.

Herman Anderson is in love. Thrilled to travel across Canada with her boyfriend as his assistant onstage, she returns to her hometown—the first stop on the Great Dagmaru magic tour. Anticipating a reunion with her brother, instead she finds her family has moved without a trace.

Stephen Dagmar’s career as a stage magician is taking off. With Herman by his side, his only concern is her father’s dislike for him. But as Herman’s father makes a prediction and resolves to come between them, Stephen’s family curse returns to haunt him.

Darkness descends as the reality of the Dagmar’s incubus bloodline surfaces for the first time in over a generation. Can Herman and Stephen’s relationship survive this new trial? Will Herman survive at all?

A sinful tale of beauty and romance, love and determination, The Magician’s Blood will chill you and leave you breathless for more.

*18+ Contains explicit scenes.

The Magician’s Blood has been a very long time coming. My own blood, sweat, and tears have gone into it … much of the sweat over the editing of it, and what should stay in and what should be edited out. In the end I’m still sweating, hoping you’re going to enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.

The Magician's Curse: A Paranormal Romance The Great Dagmaru Book 1 by [Hill, Linda G.]

Here’s my review:

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started out reading this book, not knowing what to expect really, and after a few chapters I was hooked!
Herman (the unfortunately named female main lead!) is leaving home to attempt to make a better life for her brother and her and somehow is led a different path by the meeting of a stranger on a train. Stephen Dagmaru is drawn to this stranger on the train, and invites her to become his assistant. He draws her into his life and family worries with an ulterior motive…

5-Star Review for The Magician’s Curse!

One of my advance reviews came in, and she gave The Magician’s Curse five stars! The review was posted yesterday on Facebook, Goodreads, and on the reviewer’s website, which you can find here. Sincere thanks, Megan!

The review:

You know you’re addicted to something when you cannot give it up no matter how are you try. The Magician’s Curse was very addicting. I couldn’t put it down. Herman sets out on her own to make a better life for herself. She didn’t expect to run into a magical man who had a curse placed on his family. In order to break that curse, Stephan must break the heart of his true love and possibly lose her forever. This heart breaking tale kept me riveted until the very last word. I’m still reeling from the deep emotions and revelations. Such an amazing book. There is more to come for Herman, Stephan, and Nina. I’m excited to know where this journey goes from here. ~ Megan Starkweather

When Herman Anderson leaves home to make a better life for herself, she doesn’t expect to meet a tall, dark stranger with whom she’ll fall hopelessly in love.
Charming and mysterious, Stephen Dagmar is a stage magician seeking an assistant. The moment he sets eyes on Herman, he knows she’s the one. He brings her home to his Victorian mansion where they embark upon an extravagant romance. Yet a shadow hangs over their love. Will the curse on his family end Stephen and Herman’s happily ever after, before it really begins?
Amidst lace and leather, innocence and debauchery, The Magician’s Curse begins the Gothic tale of The Great Dagmaru. Magic and romance await.
