Lots of good news this week! I’ve been nominated for the prestigious Paranormal Romance Guild’s Reviewer’s Choice Award with The Magician’s Curse! This couldn’t come at a better time, since I hope to publish Book Two of the series, “The Great Dagmaru,” in April.

Linda Tonis, senior reviewer for The Paranormal Romance Guild wrote:

I literally read this book in a few hours since I found it hard to put down. This is a story filled with magic, curses, sex, romance, secrets and surprises so how could I not love it.

I have supported and followed Linda for a long while now, taking part in her challenges on her blog and I read her novella All Good Stories with pleasure, so to see her full length book finally out there, I was excited to read it!

The Magician's Curse: A Paranormal Romance The Great Dagmaru Book 1 by [Hill, Linda G.]

Here’s my review:

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started out reading this book, not knowing what to expect really, and after a few chapters I was hooked!
Herman (the unfortunately named female main lead!) is leaving home to attempt to make a better life for her brother and her and somehow is led a different path by the meeting of a stranger on a train. Stephen Dagmaru is drawn to this stranger on the train, and invites her to become his assistant. He draws her into his life and family worries with an ulterior motive…

Giving, the final two days

On September 23rd, just over a month ago, I announced that until October 31st I would give all the proceeds from my books as donations to those in need after the hurricanes. I was hoping to raise loads of money; unfortunately I only managed about $18.00.

I’ve decided, therefore, to give all of the money to the Red Cross, to help the people of Puerto Rico. It’s not much–yet. But there are still two days to go. So in a last-ditch attempt to give aid where it’s needed, I pledge to match all the proceeds from my books sold until October 31st, 2017, at 11:59pm, with my own money.* That means if you buy All Good Stories, $o.70 will go to charity. For the e-book version of The Magician’s Curse, $4.20 will be donated, and for the paperback of the same title, you’ll be donating $12.50 between you and me for each book. Please let me know if you buy a paperback–it takes Createspace three days to let me know I’ve sold one.

I’m strapped for money myself, but I know there are people out there who need what I have more than I do. There are things I can go without–they’re hanging on by a thinner thread than mine. However, I have faith that the universe will provide me with whatever I need. So what do you say? Shall we do this?

Here, again, is all the info about the books with links. Please share far and wide. Thank you for your time and your generosity.

As best friends, Xavier and Jupiter have always been supportive of each other’s romantic relationships. But when Jupiter meets Bob online, Xavier can’t help but feel he needs to come to her rescue. There’s just something about Bob. In the process of preventing Bob from wooing Jupiter away, Xavier realizes he’s been in love with her all along. Can he keep her safe and win her heart? And will he ever get to read her manuscript?

Join Xavier, Jupiter, and a quirky cast of characters in this fun romantic comedy novelette with a twist you won’t see coming.

Books And Me Blog

We cannot choose who we love… So what happens if the one we love is bound by an ancient curse? Do we watch, walk away or do we become a part of the abomination?
magicians curseThis story by Linda Hill is about a Magician. But do not cast that ward of suspicion yet. For it is The Great Dagmaru, the magician himself, despite all his magic who is powerless before an ancient curse. But is the magician as blameless as you would like him to be?
In this day and age dominated by shape shifters, vampires, and werewolves the very premise of this book makes it a rare find.
If the character of the Magician seems too perfect, too flawless making you withhold your attachment there is someone for just for you dear reader- you might want to make your own and her name is Herman (yes she is a girl…

First Edition Paperback of “The Magician’s Curse” – Get it today!

This is just a quick post to let you know I plan to tweak the paperback cover (back cover only) of my debut novel, The Magician’s Curse, before I buy my copies to distribute in local stores. It will be unavailable for about 24 hours while the update takes place. I’ll upload the new copy tomorrow morning (Toronto time, Sunday, July 2nd, 2017). Hopefully the book with the new back cover will be back online by Monday morning.

The changes are extremely minor, but if this book ever hits the bestseller lists (haha) the first edition may be worth something.

It’s Alive!

My book–the one I’ve been saying I was going to publish for four years now (didn’t believe me, did you?)–is finally here!

It’s a story I spent months obsessing over, traveled for, went to outrageous lengths for–I sat in the Kingston Via Rail station, taking notes for the description of it; drove around the city looking for the perfect setting for the house in which the story takes place and then I parked my car there and walked halfway back to town to see what it would be like. I stayed in different lodgings – the university where my characters went to school, the house that inspired the one in the book, and a small motel near the train station. I even had a chance to interview a magician. I’ll be posting that interview soon.

But most of all I had a lot of fun writing The Magician’s Curse and its sequel. And I’m almost finished writing the third book. Not sure if there will be more: I’ve toyed with the idea of a prequel.

For now though, I can finally share part of this world I’ve lived in by myself for almost six years. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Magic and romance await.

And I promise to stop the constant spamming now. 🙂
