This book was great. From the wonderful characters, to the amazingly believable unbelievable story line. Confused? Well, although we all know magic isn’t real, the author makes it all make sense. This story about a young woman, Herman, and the man she meets. He is trying to break a curse that was placed on his family. i feel like i would be giving away spoilers by continuing. I must say Ms. Hill writes a very engaging story about two very interesting characters who meet and fall in love. I normally do not read books with younger characters, but this talented author had me hooked from the very beginning. I love mystery with a darker side and truly enjoyed The Magician’s Curse. I love books like this one and as soon as I saw the blurb I knew it would be a book I’d want to read, and hopefully enjoy!  Well I certainly enjoyed it!!

My #BlogTour has begun!

Hosted by the lovely Anne Cater, my blog tour kicked off yesterday with a somewhat rough beginning. The first blogger on the tour, whose name happens to be Linda, didn’t review The Magician’s Curse because, I’m assuming, she wasn’t enjoying it. Which is fair–not everyone will. Yet she was kind enough to stick to her promise and promote it with a spotlight anyway. You can find her blog post here. Thank you, Linda!

Then today, the blogger who was supposed to review my book disappeared! I swear it had nothing to do with the magic in my book. Stephen Dagmar simply wouldn’t play that sort of a trick. However, another kind soul who is associated with Anne picked up the spot and promoted my book. Her name is Ali, and you can find her blog here. Thanks so much, Ali!

Which brings us to tomorrow; I’m almost afraid to say there will be a review of my book. Is Mercury in retrograde by any chance?

Random Update on My Week

Day 5 is almost in the bag and we’re all still alive.

It’s been an interesting week. I managed to write and submit a new short story to my publisher (I can’t believe I can actually say “my publisher”!) yesterday. Transmundane Press’s next release will be an anthology themed on dreams. I’m happy with what I’ve written–hope they will be too. Wish me luck.

Speaking of luck, it’s lucky St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow. In other news, as I was driving the other day, annoyed that it was taking so long to get to my destination, I started to wonder if I’m getting spoiled by fiction. Okay, I know that doesn’t make much sense on the surface, but hear me out.

When I write scenes, if I want my characters to go from one exciting scenario to the next, I just put them there. Because let’s face it, most of the time traveling is boring. There’s a reason kids ask “are we there yet?” I spend so much time in the world of fiction, whether I’m reading it, writing it, or editing it, that it has become more the norm than what’s normal.

I really need to get out more, don’t you think?

Anyhoo, that’s my short update. Back to work.
