First it was the ice storm. Remember that? Back in December, just before Christmas I slipped on the ice and hit my head on a concrete step. Result: concussion. Thank goodness I had the lovely villainous Navigator1965 to cover for me.
Then there were the frost quakes. They were fun.
And let’s not forget the icicles, that led to the destruction of my eavestroughs.
And now? To add insult to injury, the ice is laughing at me:

Can you see the big grin? Just in case, I drew eyebrows, eyes, a mustache and a goatee on him:
Have I mentioned lately that I’m sick of winter?

Well, as someone marooned in the desert that is Los Angeles, I might long for a scene like this but perhaps not the ice. I tend to be quite unsteady when slipping and sliding. Enjoyed this — great photograph.

Thanks, Beth. 🙂 I’ll trade you for a while if you’d like – I’ll leave you a bag of salt so that if it warms up a bit it’ll melt the ice. 🙂

I saw Falcor from The Neverending Story in that picture. Spring must be coming soon — I know you’re way up north, but we’ve already had two tornado warnings in the MidSouth, US.

Tornadoes already? Wow. I guess that means it’s warming up rapidly there.
Falcor, yes! I was thinking dragon-like creature. Much more with my embellishments than without. 😛 Looking at the original picture I was reminded of Jim Carrey in “The Mask.” 😛

I’ll swap your ice for summer in North Qld – it is beautiful when it’s:
1. Not building up to a cyclone
2. Not having a cyclone
3. Not recovering from a cyclone
4. Creating so much humidity that you need a shower after toweling off after your shower.
5. Raining but bringing no relief as the rain itself is warm.
Sigh …. you know I do love where I love but I am really over summer.

We need to trade on alternate days… 😛
We get the humidity and at times, 50C heat here in the summer too. Only we get tornadoes… isn’t that just another name for a cyclone? I think so. Too late at night to decide.
Anyway, better that it just stays spring and fall, what do you think? 🙂
Thanks for the comment 😀

Yes to the Spring and Fall and no cyclone isn’t a tornado – it doesn’t appear in the form of a twister and it can go for days. Other than that it’s quite lovely here. lol

We had to get our trailer today to haul some equipment. The wheels and the kick stand plate were buried under two inches of ice. Took us nearly two hours to clear it enough to haphazardly attach it to the van and then try like hell to drive off with it. It was a fascinating time. Supposed to be really cold the rest of the week here. Good thing it’s almost over.

I don’t know how much I’ll have to replace once they take a closer look at the rotten boards the eavestroughs were attached to. I’m hoping for the best, but not expecting too much.
