Everywhere you look, the snowbanks, though dirty from the mixture of sand and salt, have melted partially and become delicate lacy formations, much like coral.
It’s difficult to get a good picture of it. It’s very pretty though. If you click on the picture you can see the detail.
So there you have it. Enjoy my dirty snow.

Although it may look pretty, I don’t hold back in saying that I am ‘pretty’ sick of the stuff. 🙂

You’re going to have to forgive me… but what immediately came to mind after your mention of dirty snow was Frank Zappa… if you don’t know what I’m thinking I’ll write the line from the song for you…

Without looking it up, the snow’s not yellow. Am I close?

Yes… I know it’s not yellow but as I was reading, and understood completely what you were saying it started playing in my head “watch out where the huskies go…” along with Stink-Foot and Nanook Rubs It. I had a copy of Apostrophe, you know, the album… My brother bought it first. 🙂

That’s the line I was thinking of, yep. 🙂 I’ve never heard the entire album – my ex used to sing that song.

In that case I’m sorry. Neither of mine listened to Zappa. My brother is the one who turned me on to him. I did find a CD when I was a 41-year old freshman and listened to it to fill my journeying around campus…

I’ve always found Frank Zappa an interesting guy, both musically and to look at. I don’t know why I never bought one of his albums.

He died young of cancer. He wasn’t a stoner. Like Jethro Tull dressed the part but wasn’t into the drug culture. I’d read an article, a rather extensive one about their history. Only one of the members in all their years together was a partier, womanizer and imbiber, and was asked to leave the group. They had a musical agenda.

It was surprising to find out years later, but at the same time I shouldn’t have been surprised. Many the assumption had been made about me, some fairly recent because I have big curly hair.

Okay, I give. What does big curly hair mean – that you don large gaudy sunglasses and polyester and dance disco in your spare time?

With Vietnamso many people running away to Canada to escape the draft I’m surprised. I’ll say this much, when disco came out I stopped listening and stuck with hard rock until music came back. Never heard of Woodstock, eh?
The hairstyle of the times you’re speaking was an Afro.

Mine was more a gypsy’s style like Magda from the original Dark Shadows.

Saturday it was 60 degrees. I wore a tee shirt and a light sweater to work. Today, I’m wearing a turtle neck and heavy coat. It’s going to snow tonight and tomorrow.

The weather is sooo all over the place, just about everywhere. Why can’t it just be a perfect 72 degrees and stay there?

All of our snow has melted, and in the last few days, the ground finally began to dry. Of course, we’re getting some more snow tonight.
