Please forgive me

It’s come to my attention after a full week of eight hour days spent reading and commenting on and tweeting all (I think I got them all) of the posts that are linked back here and still being a day behind that I’m not going to be able to keep it up. For some strange reason, my kids are trying to scrape me off the laptop and my glue is getting weaker by the hour. I’ve been trying to read your posts before replying to my own comments, so if your kindly left comment has gone unanswered, that’s why.

From here on in I’m going to do my best to get to everyone at least once every two days. On the odd day I may “like” but not comment. If this happens, it doesn’t mean I didn’t read your post! Chances are I enjoyed it immensely but am just short on time.

I’d like to take this opportunity to once again say thank you to the overwhelming response to Just Jot It January and SoCS. You guys are awesome, and I really do love reading all the posts! So keep visiting each other, keep up the community spirit and keep on jotting. 😀

  1. I was just thinking about how I don’t want blogging to get in the way of my life. It has that potential to enrich our lives, but also get in the way of living. There are just not enough hours in the day to get to everything, so I completely understand. I wish I could get to your blog more often, and I very much appreciate SoCS!

  2. It happens, Linda… believe me, I know all too well how overwhelmed one can get with a busy blog. Those of us who have followed you for a long time and participated in your wonderful challenges already know how awesome you are and that you reach out to us as much as possible. But you do have a wonderful son to look after and he should come first. We, your loyal followers, are not going anywhere 🙂 Have a great time with your son!

  4. There is nothing to forgive. I am really thrilled to be taking part in both Just Jot it January and Stream of Consciousness. I have met some great new bloggers, read some wonderful posts, and it has been down to you Linda for organising it all! Thank you 🙂

  5. Forgive? We understand! It is an issue with blogging when it becomes impossible for one person to do it all. After all, the reason we do it is to write and to create. How do we manage all the other bits? because these bits bring excitement and delight and learning, I don’t know. It’s the tension between things, the choices, the balance… and so many things clamour for our attention. Become a hermit and do nothing else? No, that’s not an option; employ someone? well, that’s not an option for most of us… so continue and do the best we can.
Linda, you amaze me constantly, with what you accomplish. Do you ever sleep?

  6. Oh Linda. I think you are amazing for organizing all this, but you have a life and we all understand.
I just owe you for starting SoCS and now JusJoJan because I need the chance to just write and I was feeling a bit lost when 2016 came. I feared for how to move forward with my blog this year and now January is just a time and place where I can figure that out without too much pressure. This is thanks to you.
    Give yourself a break.

  8. Hosting is huge job and time consuming. You have a life off the screen and family as well. Dont worry about it. You have alot of participants and we can mingle on each others blogs.

  10. I always appreciate your comments but I agree with the others: take a break sometimes! Who cares if people get offended.

  11. No one really minds if you can’t comment on every single post. People appreciate that you have put the forum together. You need to have time for you, too. We won’t be offended if you just hit the like button. We adore seeing you whenever we do, but it’s impossible for everyone to keep up with everyone else ALL of the time. Thanks for all you do!!

  14. Hi Linda, feel free to “just” like my posts and comment whenever you find time. I don’t mind and maybe that gives you a little more time for others. Take good care of yourself 🙂

  18. You are doing better than me. I am so far behind that I may have to just make a post, as you did to say hello and I will try and catch up. Hope your New Year is going well otherwise. Have a great weekend. 🙂
