What Day is it Anyway? Sunday, April 5th, 2020

My day today so far–4:13pm:

Another failed attempt to get out of bed in time to go to the grocery store. But we’re not desperate for anything yet, so it’s really no big deal. I’m serious about keeping my visits down to once a week–the less time I spend around people in an enclosed space, the better.

Apart from that, I’ve been out to work on my book in the car for a couple of hours, and while I’ve been home, I’ve been fighting with Alex. He wants me to look for an old Wii game of The Price is Right. We’ve never been able to win it, so I refuse to look for it. As I write this, I’m sitting on the floor in my bedroom with my back against the door while he pushes on it.

My life is so exciting.

Yesterday:

I had a shower! Yay! When I was finished, I opened the shower curtain and saw Alex’s pants where he’d left them on the floor. In the creases is the eye and one ear of a cat, with a giant paw on its head.

Do you see it?

Here, I outlined it for you.

Did I mention my life is exciting?

Why I’m writing this post:

Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress and all over the Internet as well, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

I want everyone to know that you can start discussions with each other in the comments, and if you’d like to write your own “What Day is it Anyway?” post, you can link to this one. Hashtag #WDIIA.

Let’s keep in touch!

  3. In our case, hubby goes out once a week to the grocery store, but he wears a mask and gloves. Our local stores are also limiting access to a few people at a time and making sure that inside the store, they stay away from each other. In addition, we have the order-ahead-and-pick-up option, as well as the ability at some stores to submit an order and have it delivered right to the house. We personally don’t do that because we don’t like someone else choosing our groceries or picking out produce or meat, nor are we comfortable with the thought that the person putting the order together might be in the contagious pre-symptom stage of the virus. I’ve gotten so use to lockdown that I may not want to go back to work – of course, once the money runs out that will all change …

Meanwhile, now that hubby is also on lockdown, the house is finally getting painted. We’ve only waited two-and-a-half years to be able to do that.

God speed, Linda. Stay in, stay safe, stay healthy.

  4. Hahahahah. I did see it! Do you have a grocery store that allows you to call in the order ahead of time? I know around me in Oakville they are doing that. You call in your order and you drive over and pick it up. That way you don’t have to spend time inside the store. It’s just a thought. I’m having way too many of them these days! Be well.

  6. You’re seeing cat faces in underwear. I guess it could be worse. Wonder if there’s something else online that Alex would like to watch?

  9. Too bad it was a failed grocery run. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. It’s advisable to spend as less time as possible in enclosed spaces other than your own home. I’m stuck at home currently and I’m making the best of it. WDIIA. For some reason, it reminded me of Whose Line is it Anyway! 😂 This sounds interesting. Let me see if I can come up with something. I’ve got my hands full with the A2Z challenge this April. Thank God for that. Lock down would be so much worse without the blogosphere! Stay safe. Take care

    • Okay, I admit it: I was thinking of Whose Line is it Anyway? when I came up with the title. 😀
I’m doing A to Z too, but I’m incorporating WDIIA. 🙂 And I agree! The blogging community is what’s getting me through this, for the most part. It’s wonderful to feel like we’re not alone … while we’re alone. 😀 Thanks for stopping by, Shweta! Be safe.

      • Haha! I’d thought so. 😀 I love that show. Oh, I didn’t know that you were doing to A2Z too. I’ll keep an eye out for your posts. Thank God for blogging. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure I would have driven myself mad. 🙂
