My day today so far–12:25pm:
Endurance. I think it should be the word of the year, not just the day.
I got to the store this morning–found out I can, in fact, go in during the senior’s hour because of Alex’s condition, so I’ll do that next week. It took me a bit more time there this morning since they’ve got arrows on the floor now making the aisles one-way. I’ll be sure to have a list ready next week, so I don’t have to double back. Today, I needed items on two lanes that were the wrong way from where I was standing at the opposite end from where the cashiers were. Uncaffeinated as I was, I got a bit lost. 😛
I did find TP, but I dropped it on the floor in the grocery store. So the package will sit in the trunk of my car until Friday when any traces of the virus should have died.
As I packed my grocery bags, I asked the cashier how she’s holding up. She said she gets a ball of fear in her chest every day she has to go to work. This despite the plexi-glass, the gloves, the disinfecting of every surface.
Endurance.
It’s something we’ll deal with for a while to come.
Yesterday:
Alex decided to be lazy, even though it was nice out. I got some work done in my car again. I talked to my mum on the phone. It was one of her more confused days. She asked if I was both Lindas. Oh, how I wish I was more than one Linda sometimes.
Why I’m writing this post:
Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress and all over the Internet as well, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.
I want everyone to know that you can start discussions with each other in the comments, and if you’d like to write your own “What Day is it Anyway?” post, you can link to this one. Hashtag #WDIIA.
Let’s keep in touch!

I waiver between “Endurance” and “Discombobulation” – LOL – but then, I usually do that, so nothing new to my fence-sitting – LOL. Hang tough and stay strong!

Linda,
Endurance should be the word for the year. Some are fighting for their lives now and that’s sad but if the worse we face in all of this is being cooped up at home then endurance paid off, right? Stay safe and healthy!

I was able to get a shopping delivery booked before it all went crazy but everything was cleaned before it got put away. (Except the TP which is sitting in my cellar decontaminating!) It’s hard to keep track of the days so I’m grateful for blogging keeping me sane.

I went to the store yesterday, and I hadn’t been since last week. I felt like I walked right into weirdo dimension. Signs and arrows reminding of the 6ft rule. The plexiglass, masks, I felt so overwhelmed when I got home. Prayers for safety!

I agree with the arrows on the floor, but I also found it took me longer to grab our few items.

Our stores just started limiting the amount of people that can be inside. I am work for an essential business and have been working steadily.
When I get home, I try to find things to do other than just watch TV and so far I have made: homemade biscuits, bread, buns, pepperoni bread, an Italian bread stick we call frizzalines (stop by my blog to check them out and get the recipe: https://michele-jones.com/frazzalines/), coconut cream pie, lemon blueberry streusel bundt cake, spaghetti sauce, and the list keeps growing.
Stay positive, stay safe!

I think it’s Monday 🤗 But I haven’t checked! I’ve been thinking of going to the store because we’re out of some of our favorite things, but we have plenty of food. Endurance, patience, and calming the mind are needed during these trying times. Stay safe😷

Endurance is what we need. Resilience too. I wash all the items that I buy with soap and water. Of course, you can’t do that to TP! Stay safe, take care.

I appreciate you keeping us up to date with what day it is, but today is MONDAY April 6th, not FRIDAY April 6th. 🙂 I know because it is the hubby’s birthday. Interesting about the one way directions on the grocery floor. Wonder if ours will do that too. We do have the lines near the checkouts.

Glad you were able to get to the store and found out that you can go at ‘senior hours.’ I am shopping for home pretty much. When I did go I had a similar experience in that I did not have a plan on which aisle to go to first so much. People working on the front lines should have big raises.

The grocery store I go to has given their employees a raise. It was a bit late coming, but they paid them retroactively from when the concern of the virus began.
Who knew grocery shopping would ever be so complicated?

Glad the store employees got a raise and retroactively. I think the staff in our stores here have been getting raises. I find it disorienting the way we have to shop now and stressful. I haven’t figured out this new system yet in when is the best time to order the food. We are ok though. We are being encouraged to NOT Go to the store or anywhere now if at all possible.
