#SoCS – If I knew the new thing

Oh hey! Look! It’s me writing a SoCS post!

Who could have guessed that would ever happen again?

Really, I’m just here to complain like an old lady.

About all the newfangled thingymajigs these days—why are there so many?

But no, really. Why can’t things stay the same? Sure, you say, you’ll get used to the way things are now.

But I knew the old way. I was familiar with it. And it wasn’t broke, so why fix it?

Like the new WordPress blocks. I don’t know about you, but I always choose the classic blocks.

I don’t like my paragraphs split up every time I want a new one, thank you very much!

*sigh* It takes so long to learn these new unnecessary things. I have plenty to learn of my own choosing, though! I don’t have time for your crap!

Get off my lawn!

Blocks coming along nicely – the new paragraph thingee is sometimes a pain – on free version doesn’t match what I can do with WP .org version on self-hosted sites platform – I walk through here, do work over there and get frustrated over – “Sigh – I gotta jump through those hoops to just ‘get ‘er done’??

And while, in biz world, I customize themes/layouts, etc….I’m thinking, here, for social connectivity?

When/IF I ‘redesign my blog, here?” Built all blocks and just commit to every year of seeing what ‘broke’ if I just move up to latest year’s theme from WP cuz, well – there are only so many hours in a day – LOL

YAY, a SoCS post from you!! It was a fun one to read – I’m with you in wishing WP wouldn’t have messed with the classic posts. I’ve gotten the groove of the blocks, but still, what a pain it has been to adjust to.
Happy New Year, I hope you have a wonderful 2023!!

I agree. I do use the classic block. I don’t want to change. Happy New Year!

Agreed! Every time you finally get something down pat, they ‘improve’ it, ugh. 💞

Exactly right! I still use the classic because I just didn’t understand the block mess.

I could almost tolerate the change, if they made sure the new things worked before they forced us to use them.

    Happy New Year, Linda!
