I just checked my number of views for the day – 72.
A few seconds later it was 66.
I wondered if I was seeing things so I refreshed the page. 73.
Now it’s back down to 66.
Am I the only one this is happening to?

Ann.. I will TRY explain – ( I am so terrible at these tech explanations)
It is a link to another blog.
If you want to be able to click on a link in your blog post and be taken to another persons post – or even an outside page – then you link it up. There is a place in your post writer that does this. It also requires you to ALLOW pingbacks on your own blog if you want ot have others able to link back to you. If you look at a post and it has different colour writing it usually means it is a link. AND IMPORTANTLY – those links will show up in the persons blog you linked to!! And they will be notified of it. I am NOT getting notified of people linking to me – nor are they showing up on the pages that get linked to. (I have NO idea why though)
If you go to wordpress support and search pingbacks – they will likely give a MUCH better explanation then I just did.
(PS – I remember asking that question too!! LOL!)
I promise you though – I WILL get you lost in your own home I will make things sound so complicated as I just did.
Maybe someone else has a simpler explanation!!! ???

Tiz another WordPress mystery. Sometimes, the top of my reader list shows posts from weeks ago, with all the new ones having disappeared. Then the following day, they are back, only to hide once again the next.

My best day figures changed as well. I get comments from people who don’t show up on the stats and the views don’t match the visitors. I think there must be a back door that they’re coming in by!

My numbers are constantly changing even though I am not as huge as you are. I do know that by a certain time in the afternoon all of a sudden if I post anything it shows the next day and it refreshes the count to zero lol…

My stats look about right today. But they have been weird in the past. My top day changed once…to a day further back in the past. And then there are days when I have only one view but from 20 different countries. But today, things look just about normal.

Mine are still up and down. Since I wrote this post today’s views went up to 92, then down again to 74 (and I lost two people too with that change) and now it’s back to 100.

I gave up trying to understand the WP stats a long time ago. There must be way more people reading that WP says there is, because I get comments from people on days WP says absolutely no one has viewed a post. Then one day it will say I have X number of followers, then X number less 1, followed by X number +3. I give up.

I have it happen sometimes. What was really devastating is I had a top day of 101 views. A month later it told me my top was 77. Curses! But I eventually accidentally beat the pants off that with a really weird freaking article. Anyway, hi. I like dragons.

I have 5 tats altogether – two I can’t see, so taking a picture of those would be hit and miss.
