How did you set upon the path of writing fiction?

When I was a child, I was very close to a certain aunt who always had a romance novel in her hand. She inspired me to want to read. I’m not sure how that translated into wanting to write, but it must have had some effect; I began writing my first “novel” when I was five years old.
