One-Liner Wednesday – A Cure?

Is there a cure for the munchies? Please tell me it’s not sheer willpower—I have none.

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

If it’s sheer willpower then most of us are out of luck. Don’t know what to do about that one. 😂🤣

I am with you! I have none either. Munchies requiring munching. I suppose finding things to munch on that are a bit healthier is the best option. 🙂 Here’s my one-liner for this week … https://brendasrandomthoughts.wordpress.com/2026/04/01/one-liner-wednesday-shes-music/

I don’t know about a cure either, but I’m with Joanne C on the healthy food. Snacking, especially on sugar, simple carbs, etc. can be addicting. I’ve had success using positive distractions, drinking water with lemon, herbal tea, blowing bubbles, taking a walk, stretching or anything you do with your hands that would make it hard to eat at the same time. There’s also the thing of writing down everything BEFORE you eat it. I did that for a couple days and was surprised at how much snacking I was doing. Good luck!

I don’t know about a cure but maybe munching on healthy things, like carrots or celery sticks, will limit the waistline damage.

No cure that I know of. I thought maybe cold would help, so I tried ice cream bars. Didn’t work.

I don’t think there’s a cure…certainly not willpower😉 My 2 best friends and I have been regaling each other with updates on our mutually out of control eating: one told me she had microwave popcorn for breakfast; the other was eating cinnamon rolls that weren’t even good–but she kept eating; and as for me, I’ve had a lot of stress lately which translates: eating anything that can’t run away from me! Saturday was a 2-bag-night (popcorn), followed by my “best ever” chocolate cake recipe with French Vanilla ice cream…yep, the 3 of us are hopeless! Take good care of YOU! 😊Hagar
