It’s Christmas Eve here in Canada, in my time zone. With my late mid-month reminder to get colouring, I wanted to reach out and say Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it, and to remind you, especially the caregivers out there, to take time for yourselves to escape. Whether it’s colouring or doing something else you enjoy, it’s important to take a break, to run away and escape from all you do for others, even if you never leave your home.
And for those who don’t celebrate Christmas, I understand the chaos this time of year brings to schedules. I wish you peace throughout the season and into the new year and beyond.
On to the reminder to colour! You’ll find the links for the two bloggers who have participated already this month below. Make sure you check them out! I’ll leave the comments on in this post, but please go to the December 1st prompt to link your entries there, if you haven’t already posted. Or if you have, feel free to leave another link!
Here’s what I’m working on this month. I’m almost finished, so I have high hopes of completing it before the year is out.
This is the first year I’ve had no holiday themes in my calendar. I’ve bought the new one for next year already–looking forward to seeing what’s in it!

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the âOne-Liner Wednesdayâ title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday youâre pinging back to is this weekâs! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If youâre self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. Itâs bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so thereâs no need to stick to the same âtheme.â
The rules that Iâve made for myself (but donât always follow) for âOne-Liner Wednesdayâ are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
I’m lucky to live close enough to walk to the water.

It’s the middle of June already, so here’s your mid-month reminder to get colouring! You’ll find the links for the two bloggers who have participated already this month below. Make sure you check them out! I’ll turn off the comments in this post and redirect you to the June 1st prompt to link your entries there, if you haven’t already posted. Or if you have, feel free to leave another link!
Here’s what I’m working on this month. I’m half-way through it, so I should have it all coloured in by July 1st.
I’m loving the fact that I can listen to an audiobook while I work. I just finished Neil Patrick Harris’s Choose Your Own Autobiography. So funny. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Here’s the link, if you’re interested in buying it. I highly suggest listening rather than reading. https://www.amazon.com/dp/0385347014
Anyhoo, back to colouring.

Here we go again, only a few days short of the end of the month. My intentions were good, but my body was weak. Still, here’s your before-the-end-of-the-month reminder and general highlighter of all the posts that have been linked to the April 1st prompt. Make sure you check them out! I’ll turn off the comments in this post and redirect you to the April 1st prompt to link your entries there, if you don’t want to wait for May 1st.
Here’s what I’m working on this month. I think I’m going to get it finished.

I know, I know, there’s only a week left to go before April gets here. But I’d like to take the opportunity to remind everyone to get their projects done and their links in, and to give a shout out to the bloggers who have joined in so far this month. They’re all so awesome! Make sure you check them out! I’ll turn off the comments in this post and redirect you to the March 1st prompt to link your entries there.
Here’s what I’m working on this month. I’m about halfway through it: all I’ve coloured so far is the dragon and the crown. I’m still hoping to get it finished in the next week.

I’m abashed to realize that I am, again, late to my own bash.
Meaning my prompt.
‘Coz I ain’t gonna make it before midnight.
But I needed a break. Alex has finally gone to his dad’s for the weekend, for the second time this year, and I’ve spent most of the day either working or catching up on the things I needed to get done.
Did I get a break? I got a break from the pressure I usually have hanging over me … but to really take a break,
you’d have to bash me over the head and drag me away.
What I need is an honest to goodness vacation.
Somewhere I have no access to social media,
somewhere that the sky is blue, the beach is warm, the sea spread out before me with waves glittering under the sunlight,
somewhere I can close my eyes.
And drift away, without a care in the world.
Hell, I’d even take a dingy hotel room in the middle of a strange city at this rate.
Tokyo is strange.
Why did the angry chicken cross the road? To get away from KFC …?
Hey there! I’m a tad late for a mid-month reminder, but I’d like to take the opportunity to highlight all of the great bloggers who have joined in so far this month. I’ll turn off the comments in this post and redirect you to the February 1st prompt to link your entries there.
Here’s what I’m working on this month. It’s coming along, slowly but surely. I hope to finish it in the next 10 days.

When you realize that you said and heard many one-liners in the last week and you should have written at least one down because you’re gettin’ old and forgetful.
Here’s a random picture of summer, so I can remember what grass looks like.
Here are the general rules to follow for Just Jot it January:
1. Just Jot It January starts January 1st, but itâs never too late to join in! Here, we run on the honour system; the âjot itâ part of JusJoJan means that anything you jot down, anywhere (it doesnât have to be a post, it can even be a grocery list) counts as a âJot.â If it makes it to your blog that day, great! If it waits a week to get from a sticky note to your screen, no problem!
2. Iâll post the daily prompts at 2am my time (GMT -5), every day except for Saturdayâs Stream of Consciousness (SoCS) promptâyouâll find that one on Friday morning at 9:30am. That daily post (i.e. this one) will be where you leave your link for others to find in the comment section. There will be a prompt for every day except Wednesday, when the prompt is simply my One-Liner Wednesday.
2a. Since today is Wednesday, I challenge you to make your JusJoJan post a one-liner. If you donât care to, or if youâve already written your post, no problem. Remember, with One-Liner Wednesday you can write anything â itâs only a prompt to write one line, not necessarily to keep to the same theme as mine. The rules that Iâve made for myself (but donât always follow) for âOne-Liner Wednesdayâ are:
(i) Make it one sentence.
(ii) Make it either funny or inspirational.
(iii) Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
(iv) Enjoy yourself!
(v) Use our One-Liner Wednesday badge.

3. As long as your blog is on WordPress, youâll be able to link via pingback. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL from the daily prompt post, and paste it anywhere in your post. Check to make sure your link shows up where you want it to, and go back occasionally to see other bloggersâ entries â the more you visit others, the more theyâll visit you! If youâre participating from another blogging host, just drop a link into the comment section. Note: The newest pingbacks and comments will appear at the top.
4. Tag your post JusJoJan and/or #JusJoJan.
5. Write anything! Any length will do! It can even be a photo or a drawing â youâre going to title it, right? Thereâs your jot!
6. The prompts are here both to remind you and to inspire you to write. However, you donât have to use the prompt word of theday. You can link any kind of jot back here. Note: If itâs 18+ content, please say so in a comment with your link or close to your pingback.
7. If youâd like to, use the JusJoJan badge so that others can find your post more easily.
I do love taking photos with reflections. I think these reflect that:
I suppose I must also like taking pictures of water.
The prompt word, âreflection,â for todayâs post is brought to you by Janet! Thanks, Janet! If you haven’t already visited her, click here. And say hi while you’re there!
