I wrote a 2,100 word short story and a blog post today. Can I count that on NaNo? Coz I didn’t get a word written today otherwise. ๐
Look at the picture!

I don’t understand the need for NaNo. Time pressure usually doesn’t help me, and it could cause me to write …. crap… to just be writing. My advice, not that you asked, is lighten up. I know people who write during NaNo each year, but then abandon their work, never editing it or doing anything with it. Write what you’re proud of and then thank NaNo for getting you started. Then finish it. Don’t kill yourself or your work for an artificial deadline.

I actually just finished the third edit of my 2011 NaNo project, in hopes to send it out after a few more edits to an agent. It’s a body of work that I’m very proud of and that I believe in wholeheartedly.
I’ve been taking your advice for two years already, but it’s excellent advice nonetheless. Many people could benefit from it. ๐

Tag it in as a side story?

Not a bad idea, actually. There might be something there I can use, if not the whole story. Thanks for the suggestion, Paul! ๐

It’s just this damned course I’m taking. My story is due tomorrow, before midnight. So far I have 100% in the course – I want to hang on to that, so I can’t be late!

Technically, no, unless you add then to your working draft. I use photos to avoid all sorts of things:>) And, yes they count with us. Great photo!

That’s what I was afraid of. My short story has nothing to do with my novel though, so I think it would look funny plonked down in the middle. ๐
Yay for photos though! ๐ Thanks very much!

Lovely photo.
I haven’t written more than 1000 words for NaNo, and that’s why I posted a BUNCH of photos on MY blog, lol!

Ah ha! Let it be known that blogging pictures is the new, universal way to get out of Nanoing!
Thanks, Joey! ๐

I have no idea about the rules of Nano writing but the picture is really beautiful.
