Life in progress

No More Slacking!

It’s true. I’ve been slacking off on my blog. Two days this past week I failed to post. My excuse? Life. What kind of excuse is that? A terrible one, if you ask me.

So I’ve decided to join in to not one, but two events to keep me on track for the rest of the month. I won’t be able to participate in Every Damned Day December this year, so I’m gonna make up for it ahead of time.

So what, you might ask, are these events? Let me show you.

The first is NaBloPoMo (or National Blog Posting Month I assume, since NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. …shouldn’t that be INTERnational by now?). The sign-up form can be found here if you’re interested in joining me: Here’s the official logo:

Nice, eh?

The second event is Nano Poblano, hosted by Mr. Mark Bialczak. Join Team Pepper, here: and get the cool banner!

To be part of Team Pepper, we have to include the tags, Nano Poblano and Team Pepper in our posts. As well as NaBloPoMo of course.

So that’s that! I have my work cut out for me for the rest of the month. How about you? Are you up for a little spice and a couple of tongue twisters?

  1. Keep it up! I’ve been building my author site for 3 months now and I think it’s coming along well. I’ve got all my rough drafts uploaded and am publishing my first book sometime in 2015. Good Luck. Check my site out at

  2. Linda I am on Mark’s team too you have the wrong year on your logo try this one

  3. Good for You! Bad for me. Blah. Iwas temped, but I have a hard time writing my blog and finding time to write o my own! Maybe next year.

  4. That’s awesome! Hopefully these programs will help you rediscover your inspiration!!

  5. Glad you are up for dual blogging challenges. I’m not up for even one… challenge

  6. Everyone needs to slack off now and then. Lord knows I don’t get to my blog sometimes for several weeks sometimes. Good luck and have fun with you two projects! πŸ™‚

  7. All the very best for all of them who are participating πŸ™‚

  8. I wish I could do either one of them. But I know that if I accepted the challenge, I would be outright lying. *sigh* That’s not to say that I won’t attempt to write as much as possible and do better when it comes to both blog and fiction writing.

    Maybe next year.

Good luck! Pulling for ya! πŸ™‚

  9. Bonne chance. I did not join any writing events this time around but I did sign up for a photo challenge. I have NO idea how I will pull that off. heh

  10. I did the Ultimate Blog Challenge in July, and have been posting every day since. I think that’s going on this month, too; I suppose I could enter although there doesn’t seem to be much of a reason. But, good for you, and I look forward to see what you come up with.

  12. I’m doing NaNoWriMo — but it will be nice to read your NaNo Bloggo — whatever, it took me three years to get my own NaNo right πŸ˜‰

  13. Sounds good dear – taken a look at Marks place. I am deliberating-ish. My internet spine is flaccid of late. I am enjoying – gardening and housework. Oddly.

  14. I love this post, and I love that you’ve joined Team Pepper, Linda.

To show my appreciation, I have hereby tapped you as the next contributor to the Nano Poblano Blog Hop Story! I linked to your about page here, but you can put the post up on your fiction blog if you want!

  15. Welcome to NaBloPoMo and to Nano Poblano!

  16. Life is a perfectly reasonable excuse for not being around.

  17. You go girl! I’ll see ya there πŸ™‚

  18. Yikes. I have to think about this. I am tempted to join in at least one of them. I guess each post does not have to be of great literary merit? One of my other blogger friends had a quote on his blog I paraphrase ” I can’t turn on my creativity like a faucet..”

    • I believe the point is just to post.. something – anything every day. And it’s a great way to connect with other bloggers too. If you join one you may as well join the other, since they both require the same thing. Hope you do, Deborah! πŸ™‚

  19. Yay! We will be in a peck of peppers together! πŸ™‚

  20. Life has this effect sometimes, doesn’t it, Linda? Getting in the way, I mean! I am very tempted by both initiatives – but, with a panto to rehearse for and my band, I think I may have to pass this time. Enjoy!

  21. Linda – I am glad you are sharing this source, I joined it too. Great idea!
