#SoCS – Dreaming

Ow, ow, ow, it hurts! Do you ever wake up and say that? Happened to me this morning – my head, all my joints, my stomach… I felt like someone had beaten me up in my sleep. It was probably due to the fact that I actually slept for about six hours in a row and then another one. I’m not used to laying down that long. But you gotta wonder if you are getting beaten up, you know? Especially after a dream like the one I had yesterday. I wrote about it on my Facebook page yesterday. When I’m finished this post I’ll copy and paste it here:

I just had a dream in which my son’s white cat (who never comes near me) came in from outside covered in snow. While I was drying him off, he turned into an East Indian man who wouldn’t leave the bathroom while I was trying to pee, then he turned the bathroom into the setting of a music video complete with a full band. They played a song and he sang – in the song he was trying to talk me into killing myself. Then I woke up. This is why I don’t do naps during the day.

Or maybe it was like a Friday the 13th hangover. I didn’t have a lot of bad luck yesterday – just a bit. I was worried for a while last night after I spilled 10mg of Alex’s heart meds on the floor and the dog licked it up. It’s meant to slow down Alex’s heart rate. Luckily the puppy doesn’t seem to have had any ill effects. He’s happily chewing a rawhide bone by my side. But back to Friday the 13th. I used to view it with fear. Now, not so much. It’s just a number, right? Why should Saturday the 14th be any better or worse? Except the hangover thing – possibly caused by the ultimate relaxation that comes from being tense all day the day before? Have you ever experienced such a thing? It’d be interesting to study the phenomenon…

I think my Tylenol is wearing off. Time for another couple. Ta ta.

  3. I usually remember my dreams, but I’ve never had one that results in pain.
Having said that, I have had serious abdominal pain since Saturday morning and, since I got to work this morning, (I can’t get a doctor appointment until this afternoon) I have found that several other people have had the same thing. Apparently it may be “a virus”, we’ll see what the doc says later.

  4. I often used to get migraines at the weekend when I’d been really stressed during the work week. It was as if by relaxing I let the things lurking in my system free rein to attack! Hope you’re feeling better and not having any more weird dreams

  6. Good one. I hate it when people come into my bathroom and prevent me from peeing. Those dreams are very challenging. Never had a band though.

  7. What a dream!! I had not thought of Friday the 13th yesterday and usually I see it as a lucky day. My son texting me upon my awakening at 11am, he was finished teaching and wanted to come over for brunch. Since it was my first day of my weekend, getting home at 11:30 p.m. and in bed by 3 am, I take it slow. It was a nice way to start the day but I was edgy all day. Could be the non stop spring cleaning that I hate to do but like the results after swearing like a sailor.

  9. Stress and being overtired then when you get too much sleep afterward. Never listen to Indian musicians who serenade you in your bathroom.

  13. I wake up without pain. Well, not counting the hands, but it’s been like that since I was in high school, so I’m used to it. Sometimes a headache…STUPID RAIN! lol I often wake dizzy, but sleep heals me well thus far. Now and again I do go to bed with pain, though, beyond the hands.
Anyway, good thing about the puppy! I would totally freak out.
Friday the 13th has always been good to me. Try focusing on that next time one rolls around 🙂

  14. I am an avid dreamer. I often write them down they are so interesting. I go to sleep wondering what I’ll dream about. I can even wake up, go pee, go back to bed and keep on dreaming. People who never remember their dreams I think is like a loss of time that jusr disappears.

    • I agree. I have periods of time when I remember every dream and then others when I either don’t remember, or don’t dream at all. I think it has something to do with stress levels.
      Thanks for commenting, Jamie. 🙂
