We have a winner! 2019-20 One-Liner Wednesday Badge

The votes are in, and we have a clear winner for the One-Liner Wednesday badge contest!

Before I get into the details, though, I want to publicly send out my heartfelt apology to Cheryl for not checking her blog before I compiled the entries. I’m truly disappointed in WordPress for not coming through with her pingback. Seriously, I’m heartbroken.

Please check out her gorgeous photos and see what we missed out on. I hope she’ll give us a chance again next year. https://tropicalaffair.me/2019/06/09/whose-line-is-it-anyway/

And thank you once again, Cheryl, for gracing us with your beautiful badge for the last year! I’ll miss this little guy!

Now, it’s time to announce our lovely new badge.

Apart from the two entries that broke away from the pack, it was a tight race for the rest of the badges. There were lots of ties, so there are only seven placements.

Tied for 6th are the swans! Willow’s White Swan and pensitivity’s Black Swans.

Tied for 5th place are John’s Highway, Fandango’s Blue Angel Jet Stream, Mamasquirrel’s Nutty Squirrel, and Melanie’s Artsy Pen.

Tied for 4th place are Anita’s Puppy Love and Maggie’s Swimming Turtle.

Now, for the top three picks:

In third place we have …

JoAnna’s Pelicans in Flight!

In second place …

with 25% of the votes

Pamela’s Unhappy Cat!

So our winner for this year’s One-Liner Wednesday badge contest is Laura with Long Dock!!

WE HAVE A WINNER! 2017-2018 SoCS Badge Contest

First, I’d like to give a special mention to our out-going Stream of Consciousness Saturday badge by Mr. John Holton. As it turned out, he has the distinct honour of coming in last-place this year, perfectly balancing out his spectacular win for the 2016-2017 badge. Thank you John, for providing us with a lovely design. Let’s everyone applaud John!

John Holton 2016-2017

It was a close race this year, with one badge pulling out in front during the final hours of yesterday’s voting. Let’s start with the runners-up.

Almost tied for fourth place were Ruth’s “Zoomburst Flower” and Scott’s “Rushing Stream.”

In third, we had Judy with her last-minute entry, “Sunrise.”

In second …

was JoAnna’s “Sparkly Stream,” which means our winner with 38% of the votes goes to J-Dubs with “A River with Red Flowers”!!

Congratulations to all the contestants on your amazing efforts. Thank you for making this years’ Stream of Consciousness Saturday badge contest a success!

And huge congratulations to J-Dubs for the winning design!

We Have a Winner!

You, the voters, have chosen our new Stream of Consciousness Saturday badge! For a while there it looked like I would have to make the final decision, but I was spared by a hair.

First, as promised (and so the winner’s badge doesn’t show up in the reader) here is the badge we have dutifully used for the past year. Since Doobster has departed for what I imagine are greener pastures and fresher air, I thought it would be a nice tribute to give everyone the opportunity to remember him with this:

an updated version with his name and the dates.

And so, on with the winner. Drum roll please…

The winner of this year’s badge contest is…

….

My Leaky Boat!

SoCS badge 2015

As I said, it was very close. There was only one vote between each of the top three:

In first was: My Leaky Boat with “Flowers,”
followed by Nearly Wes with “Sun Rays.”
In third was Owl Wonder with “Splash”
and then in close fourth was Irene Design with “Gems”
and bringing up the most honourable last place was Ever Changing with “Waterfall.”

Congratulations to all the entrants for a job well done and thank you to everyone who voted!
