I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow this morning. It’s to be expected – I live in Ontario, Canada.
Strange strange happenings are going on in the world, weather wise, however. In the south – in fact all the way to South America – the temperatures have dropped to past freezing.
And today, while I was delivering my newspapers here in Ontario, it began to rain. Upwards.
It didn’t matter how far I looked down, with the big hood on my winter coat over my head, I was getting rain in my face.
Strange strange weather…

Our skies are no longer a massive grey blanket and we’ve finally got a weak sun, which will help the sidewalks that no one has bothered to at least salt that second time. Temps are still low so our struggling winter sun can only do so much. There are businesses across the street from me, and depending on budget there’s a patchwork sidewalk – clear, snow covered, clear, clear, snow covered as I walk along.

They can’t afford a shovel? 😛
You do paint a lovely picture, Myas. Thank you. 🙂

I don’t know if they can’t afford or don’t have shovels… I think it’s getting someone out there. In summer they’re all over mowing every inch of everything possible for as long as possible. In winter, well, it’s true to winter, changing seasons, emptiness, desolation… along with the leaves there’s not a soul in sight! Now that I think of it, I’ve never seen a truck and trailer parked on the side of the road advertising snow removal like I see in the spring and summer for lawn care.

Hibernation is the name of the game I suppose.
I haven’t forgotten our song by the way. My son stopped by this morning and I showed him your lyrics… he thought they were great! I’m hoping he’ll be able to come over and help me with it before the week’s out. 🙂

I’ve been over in Thailand for the last few months, but I go back to England next week….. I’m definitely not looking forward to the change in weather. Luckily I don’t think it gets as bad there, but you’d think it were the end of the world the way us English go on about it! haha

Talking (or complaining) about the weather is what connects us Canadians to the U.K… moreso maybe than even the Queen. 😉
Good luck! And thanks for the comment, Jacob. 🙂

We’re freezing over here in Alberta! Rain would be better, no matter which way it’s going! Love your snowflakes, btw. 🙂

I saw pictures of Calgary earlier. It’s terrible!
Thanks very much. You can get the snowflakes too, I think, in your general settings. 🙂

Do you ever feel guilty tossing papers out in the rain? My former father-in-law had a paper route, and it troubled him so bad he would come home drenched, because he would often stop, and walk the papers to the porch. Our paper, here, is wrapped in plastic, but still gets drenched during monsoon season unless I get it in promptly.

I never toss the paper – I always go right up to the door and put it in the mailbox. Then again we don’t have monsoon season here – we just have -40 degrees. 😛

If it would rain UPWARD more often, think of how clean my eaves would be! And the underbody of my car! And no one would ever wear skirts again, lol!

I’m glad I wasn’t wearing a skirt today! I didn’t even think of that!

I think they changed it to “global climate change.” So far in 2013, the polar ice cap is up 60%. Ultimately, no. I just believe that we’re seeing weather that isn’t common, and so during our very brief period of time actually charting weather (around 170 years now), we’re seeing more and more variations of what can occur. That or the world is ending, but I try not to jump to that conclusion. People look at you like you’re crazy. I probably should have showered and brushed my teeth, and the red paint on the cardboard sign didn’t help. PS: Why is your background snowing?! It’s based on my mouse position! Entertained for hours.

They changed what it’s called? Really? Where have I been? 😛
I think you’re right – our earth has gone through many changes – although I do think we’re speeding up the process.
Change to black paint – much better in my experience. 😉
The snow on my page? It’s part of the ‘global climate change.’ haha
Not really. If you to into settings and then general on your dashboard, there’s a tick box for it. I found it yesterday. 😀
