Our homes are like our little life-pods. We go out in public and we think we’re like everyone else but we’re not. Not quite. We all have our little lives, our little traditions, our family secrets – our way of brushing our teeth.
But then sometimes we find someone we’re like, more than most of the people we meet. There is a connection and all of a sudden it’s like a light switch has been turned on and we start to wonder if maybe we knew this other person in a different life. It’s an amazing feeling to find someone we connect with. REALLY connect. Someone who is so like us that it’s like we grew up with the same ideas.
Perhaps this has to do with the zodiac, or simply with the fact that we had similar backgrounds. But what is even more shocking is when we know neither of these things is the case. It’s just the luck of the draw.
Or maybe we were siblings in another life.
Have you ever met someone who just rubs you the wrong way, before they even open their mouth to speak to you?
Have you ever known someone for a very short while who, if you look in their eyes, you know without speaking that they are thinking the same thing as you are?
I’ve felt both of these things. The latter is the most wonderful feeling in the world.

Oh yes, I experienced both sensations and is totally better the latter! I love when it happens and when I realize it’s a genuine things because sometimes it happens it’s just an illusion!

I have met people in both respects and my instincts have never failed me. It’s an inner knowing on both counts and I don’t believe everyone has that ability.

Yes, I’ve met people that I pick up a bad ‘vibe’ from and I’ve met folks that I just seem to fall into step with… the conversation is great, there’re things you both agree on or like… and you can have a good laugh… sometimes you get an unexpected surprise but, if you just take each moment as it comes that’s what counts – you’ll always have that
“we’ll always have Paris” Haaa – I do love Bogie
and, I discovered all blog notifications I signed up for are being sent to my spam folder. I’m weeding through and un-spamming if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been – I’ve been wondering where everyone went myself…

I was wondering where you’d wandered off to. Glad it wasn’t anything too serious. 🙂
It’s great when you find someone whose sense of humour you share, isn’t it? Nothing better than a good laugh. 😀

Nope. Never the similar thing. Thought my ex could read me like I could read her, but sometimes she would be off. Found out she got her information through hacking my facebook. As to people rubbing me the wrong way, almost everyone I meet for the first time.
Actually…my cousin’s bf. I have a bit of a man crush on him. He’s probably the only person I felt similar to. Trying to get them hitched.

There you go then. It doesn’t have to be a romantic connection. Not all of mine have been, by a long shot. 🙂
Good luck getting your cousin married off! haha

Yes all very true the worst thing is when you have connected with a special person and suddenly you realize they are nothing like they portrayed themselves! xxxxx

Such a great post Linda – yes – I have had both…AND lost both. AND then gone on and found some more!! 😀 (sort of) Connection is THE most important thing in my life. Sometimes it works through conversation though right? I am having THE most connected awesome time with my daughter at the moment. Not quite at the ‘telepathic’ level – but getting there 😉 …and then there are those whom you so dearly wish to share that experience with and yet know – it won’t happen…but you keep trying to reach in and connect.

Thanks very much, Belinda. 🙂 Connections can be found through many different means – any sort of communication can show that you have it. But it’s true that it’s something that can’t be forced. It seems it’s either mutual or it’s just not happening, sadly.

I have and its amazing. It felt so uncharacteristic of me when I met this person that I would connect so quickly–I’m a very introverted person. We both commented on this connection and are best friends to this day.

You are right Linda. In here I tried this feeling too. Some of you in here gave me this feeling too. I use to say, we have a good chemi together.
In the real world it is amazing to try too. And yes, maybe we know each other from another life, did not end our things together, and that is why, we continue meeting each other again. Who knows?
Thanks for sharing.
